Grande Denali Lodge

Very pricey food, but then I know that transportation, availability, etc are factors, Room was clean and beds were comfortable

We stayed here as part of a post cruise tour. Part of the issue is that we went from 5 star cruise accommodations to a 3 star hotel accommodations, so you may need to adjust expectations. Our room was clean and adequate. We did not get the best of views from our room which was disappointing. It is a bit rustic and sits above the town area. There are shuttles available, however. We were disappointed in the restaurant as well. The food and service were good, but not at the price point. Again this is Alaska so adjust expectations.

but the room was a very long walk from the lobby. Breakfast in the dining room was very expensive for a buffet where almost nothing was left.

Be aware you can’t check in until 4 pm and checkout is at 10 AM. Which means housekeeping will come pounding on your door at 9 AM until you answer. We had to check out 20 minutes late due to waiting for a toilet plunger. We arrived early at 1 PM and completely understood our room wouldn’t be ready. Staff however told us they would have it ready by 2 PM. We left at 2:55 Pm with no room. Again we understood the check in time but also , don’t tell us you’ll have it available when you aren’t certain. For almost $500 a night for a place with no pool or hot tub and being there was than 12 hours, we wouldn’t stay there again

We stayed at the Denali as assigned by part of our train tour. The rooms are very disappointing for a $400/night hotel. The staff bordered on rude. The menu was very limited. Our room was right over the loading dock so no view and every discussion by the workers could be heard including all four letter words and complaints. I recommend asking for the bluff which is the sister property.

This place was a waste of money. The restaurant front counter staff was terrible. Denied us a chance to seat at the window. I had to go to the managers before finally getting to sit down at a window table. We were told that we couldn’t sit at the windows due to the staff wanting to be done early for the night. The manager took care of it and then our server helped make our night better. He was awesome. Can’t remember his name though. Our room felt a little outdated. The mattresses were old and sunken. The shower head was broken and we had to tie it with a towel so it could stay. Overall I don’t think it’s work it. Great view but I could have gotten the same without booking this hotel room.

The view was amazing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable.

The room has the feel of a Holiday Inn, withoutmthe included breakfast. The room only had a desk chair, while it had plenty of room for additional furniture. The lobby, bar, and dining area were beautiful. Clearly, this was where they spent they’re money. Place would have been fine overall for $150/night, but not $500.
