"west Edmonton inn"

2.0

When I checked out, the front desk staff said everything was “done.” I specifically asked for a receipt, and I noticed that in addition to the charges for the 2-night stay, there was an extra charge listed as “67 × 4 plus tax” for day passes. I questioned this because my booking was a package that already included 4 day passes for the 2 nights. After repeated clarification, the front desk staff acknowledged the mistake and removed the additional charge for the 4 day passes. If I had not proactively asked for the receipt, I would have been overcharged. This raises a concern: was this due to insufficient staff training, or something else? I hope the hotel can review this process to prevent similar issues for other guests.

"Not worth the $$"

4.0

There was hair wrapped in my towels, one towel had some yellow/red stuff stuck to it. We ended up not using the bathroom towels other than to put under our feet on the bathroom floor. The heater makes an awful noise all night and we got no sleep, I almost checked out to go somewhere else and get some sleep. For $200 a night, it’s definitely not worth it. (This price wasn’t including any passes etc, it was just the room rate)

"Don't go as a family - and ask before paying for hidden deposits on your CC or Debit Card"

2.0

I honestly don’t know where to start. The only positives: the location is unbeatable if you want direct access to the mall and waterpark. The rooms were ok, reasonably clean, and there’s a very basic breakfast included (toast, coffee, pancake machine, jam). Everything else was a mess. When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready. We were told we’d receive a text when it was ready. We never did. When we came back around 4 pm, we were given room #113: right beside the lobby, behind the elevator, on the ground floor. The check-in process was chaotic and unacceptable. The front desk agent didn’t explain anything and charged a 25% deposit on my credit card. I told him we wanted to pay with our Visa debit — he then charged $250 on that card. When I checked, he had charged: full price + 25% on my credit card full price + $250 on my debit When we questioned it, he said the credit card charge would be reversed but would take 5 business days. That’s not acceptable without clear communication beforehand. After speaking to the manager on duty, I went back and told him that guests should be informed before multiple charges are made. His reaction was intimidating and rude. When I said he made a mistake, he responded: “What did you say? Can you repeat that?” in a confrontational tone, then aggressively typed on his computer. I genuinely felt harassed. The stay itself didn’t improve. The first night, a group of men stood directly outside our window discussing their sexual experiences as teenagers — loudly. We were traveling with two children and hoped they were asleep. It was so inappropriate and uncomfortable that I had to go to the window and tell them to leave. The breakfast room is tiny, windowless, with paper plates and cups. The staff member there did her best and kept things stocked. In the afternoon, I went to the lobby and a homeless man ran in, jumped onto the sofa, said he was exhausted, and started talking to me. I left immediately. The second night, a woman in the lobby was audibly moaning and sighing for at least two hours. Eventually, an ambulance came and took her away. She was clearly not a guest. And last: because of our location right behind the elevator, there was no chance of a restful night, as you hear the elevator noise almost the whole time. For nearly $500 for two nights, this whole experience was completely unacceptable. I’ve learned my lesson. I would much rather stay somewhere further away and take an Uber or cab to the mall. Not recommendable at all — especially not for families with children.

Excellent location. Really a three minute walk. Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast room was very small and not much of a choice. Maybe add muffins or bagels or sour dough bread. Maybe some bananas.

"No so bad, not so good"

The best thing is proximoty to the mall and the tickets they provide to Galaxy Land and the Water Park. There is a big room for improvement in facilites and staff attitude.
