The hotel was beautiful right on the beach , but the elevator being down and having to find street parking put a damper on our stay a bit ! There was homeless and suspicious people wandering around the park next to us so we hardly utilized it .

The gentleman at the front desk greeted my wife and me with such a warm and welcoming attitude—we could tell he truly enjoys his job. Our stay at Pier South Resort, Autograph Collection by Marriott, was wonderful. The views are absolutely amazing, and having restaurants conveniently located right downstairs was a huge plus. Highly recommend!

Main elevator was not working the entire time so had to use service elevator. Kind of hard to get to. Had an upstairs neighbor that was very noisy need more soundproofing on upper floors

"A beautiful, relaxed stay"

The staff at this hotel clearly care about giving their guests the best possible experience. They were friendly, helpful, and made sure the stay was a relaxing and pleasant. The hotel's 5th floor rooftop terrace is a great place to relax and watch sunset over the ocean, or the pelicans overhead. The walk to the Imperial Beach Pier is less than 5 minutes through a safe beachside neighborhood that feels laid back, and is full of interesting restaurants. Imperial Beach sits right beside the US Navy base, and has a very safe, family feel -- if you want a relaxed beachfront resort to enjoy the San Diego area that isn't sandwiched between yacht clubs and multi-million dollar homes, this is a great choice. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

It's no fault of the hotel, but while we were there the prevailing currents carried sewage up the coast from Mexico, so there were bacteria warnings that kept us (though not the local surfers!) out of the water. The beach walking was still wonderful, but we weren't brave enough to splash around.

This location is awesome. Beach front rooms the food is fantastic. Been to this hotel 3 times for a get away. You can walk right on to the beach many food locations also close by. The imperial beach pier is also just a short distance walking.

The parking is limited but valet parking makes it very convenient.
