"Low cost accommodation close to city centre"

6.0

This was my 4th stay at Devonshire House Hotel in the last 12 months, and my choice to continue staying there is entirely based on the low cost, free parking, and close proximity to the city centre by road and foot. The quality of the rooms is very hit and miss, the room this time was more of a miss, though I can see that they have done work on the place in the last 12 months to improve the general appearance internally. It is what it is, and that is a no frills bed for the night at a very reasonable price, close to the city centre. If you are seeking luxury, this is not it - pay more, and stay in the city centre.

"Perfect for the price"

8.0

The Devonshire House Hotel was perfectly situated just out of the busy city of Liverpool. You would need to drive and pay to park if you want to go downtown but I was comfortable staying in the lounge, enjoying a large cheeseburger and a drink. I had an early morning to catch a ferry about 2 hours away in Holyhead so there was no issues with checking out early (5AM). Thank you for the hospitality.

"Excellent"

8.0

Room 207 was clean and comfortable and had a lawn view. Wall lights switch was behind headboard of bed - not good - little battered lamp as substitute! Food in the evening was good quality and quantity. The staff were very friendly. Not too far from Liverpool centre. The Wedding venue looked beautiul. We have stayed before and would stay again.

"Reasonable hotel"

8.0

This is a basic hotel at a good price. The rooms were clean although could do with some updating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was again basic 'pub' fair but was well cooked and tasty. Overall a comfortable stay at a very good price! As hotel is about 1mile from city centre and set back from road it is a quiet location. The distance is no problem as it is an easy walk in or there is a bus which runs quite regularly into the centre. If the weather is good there are lovely gardens to sit in and enjoy.

"updating needed"

6.0

this hotel needs a complete overhaul. The food was basic and vegies appeared to be frozen. The staff were friendly enough. We were on the ground floor but still had carry suitcases up some stairs, they do have a lift for the other floors. If you are on the ground floor you get a lot of noise from the rooms above.

"Nice place for a night"

10.0

Generally clean room, bit of damp on bathroom tiles but liveable. Very warm in room, could have done with air com or temperature control. Good night's sleep though in comfortable bed. A hair dryer would have been useful but the usual tea/coffee, toiletries etc were there. On whole a pleasant stay.

"Liverpool experience"

6.0

The girl on the front desk when checking in did not smile and did not ask if I wanted to open an account for additional drinks etc. The Wifi did not work in the room at all during my stay. However the staff in the restaurant and bar were very welcoming and pleasant. Food was really good value for money.

"Good"

The hotel may be good but the room given to me was not. It was small-ish and very noisy, specially during the day time.
