Grand Mercure Petra

Don’t book it!!!! The scam is they let you book this hotel which has a view of Petra from the high mountain, however this hotel is CLOSED, after you book they will send you a separate email prior to checking in that you have been relocated to a hotel downtown next to Petra with no view!!!!, staff advised on check in that we will get compensated however we didn’t see any compensation.

We stayed at Mövenpick which was right across from Petra, perfect walking distance, staff were amazing and offered a later check out as we got lost in Petra and were away a little longer than expected

We kregen een upgrade naar het Mövenpick. Daar kregen we een heel ruime kamer. Het hotel ligt aan de ingang van Petra, dus een perfecte ligging. Het eten is heel goed, het personeel ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er is een klein buiten zwembad, wat heerlijk verkoelend is na een dag Petra.

Grand Mercure was actually closed for renovation, so we were sent to Mövenpick Petra and our stay was amazing! All Staff were exceptional and we were also upgraded! Mary Ann and all the staff in breakfast were amazing! Chef and all breakfast stations food was great! -evening dinner so much choice and taste was great! Even Ahmed at chocolate hour was really good and attentive- everyone showed love to my daughter and went out of their way to make her happy! Exceptional stay!

As Grand Mercure Petra is still under reconstruction, we've spent our time in the Mövenpick Resort Petra. It was perfect, breakfast was nice. It also has 2 dining options, buffet and a-la carte. The food is delicious, the room is spacious and well-maintained. Pity we didn't have time to check SPA options.

We were upgraded to the Movenpick hotel for our stay which has an exceptional location, just across the road from the Petra's visitor centre. The food, welcoming staff and beautiful interiors made for an excellent stay. Special thanks to Rasha for making our stay great.

The Grand Mecure upgraded my family to their partner hotel, The Movenpick. This hotel was conveniently located across the road from the Petra Visitor's center which made it so easy to visit the site. Additionally, the staff went out of their way to welcome us and ensure that we had all that we needed for our stay.

I can not think of anything that should be changed or improved. It was a great place to stay.

This is a review for the Movenpick, as we were upgraded since the Grand Mercure was closed. The Movenpick was fine. Service was very good and rooms were clean. Selection at the breakfast was lacking, variety was very small and the buffet was almost empty both days we were there at 9:00. I think the hotel was mostly empty during this time but I would have expected better breakfast. Everything was just OK, but again we were upgraded and paid Grand Mercure prices for the Movenpick, I would not have been so content if we paid Movenpick prices.

Breakfast was lacking, fitness center very old and dated with broken equipment.
