Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk

The Good: Chris at the front desk was very helpful & friendly. The chef (May 29) was very cheerful and helpful. It was a 2 minute walk to the excellent Oak and Almond. - The Bad: Broken elevator with NO repair work evidenced during our 3 weekday stay. No in-room safes. Premium charges totaling about $250 per night. I’ve had better rooms and breakfasts for $135 per night. Rude service by Michael - the breakfast attendant: refused to refill the courtesy water jar in the lobby. Additional charges to use the exercise room Refused to permit a 1-hour small group gathering in an unused conference room area, and even then there would have been a significant charge for rental. The breakfast menu was comprehensive and reasonably priced, however the food was only warm and the coffee cold. Scrambled eggs were cool, sausage and potatoes were dried out. Multiple duplicate charges were logged by my Bank during our stay and the final receipt sent to me by eMail was woefully incomplete. We had a total of 6 rooms booked against my Hilton Honors account (2 of our 4 families needed an adjoining double room), yet only ONE of the bills for our four family groups was sent to me. That receipt was undecipherable as to which charges were linked to each of the linked double / connected rooms. I now expect this will take weeks of financial disentanglements to clarify.

Location is great. Morning coffee and tea in the lobby was a plus.

Elevator out of order and Ice machine on my floor was out of order as well.

Hotel needs physical work, multiple things were broken or not working.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

A/C unit made constant buzzing noise. Shower was awkward. In order to turn on shower I got doused with cold water!

It was clean and neat and well taken care of

The elevator was broken and my room was near the staff elevator, and I can hear it banging frequently multiple times in the night when I should be sleeping it was waking me up.

Many options for breakfast, although the oatmeal was a little watery.

Some elevators occasionally out of order.
