The Derwentwater Hotel

Lovely location, hotel grounds beautiful

The price we paid didn’t include breakfast, had no view what so ever. The tv had no reception although they did correct this by our second night. We had no hot water for the whole of our stay, there was thick dust behind toilet and sink and cobwebs on bedroom walls. The window catch was broken and insecure and would be easy accessible from outside where our room was situated. Bar closed at 9 the first night and 10 the second night. Although the gentleman on the bar was very pleasant and helpful.

Car parking You submit your reg no at the reception, in our case thinking it exempted you from charges on the attached car park, only to be hit with a bill on leaving, very surprised at the charge , needs making very clear to future clients

Staff were friendly.

The double bed was 2 singles pushed together, the Tv didn’t work and we asked for a room with. Bath tub which is didn’t have.

Pictures on web site are not accurate for the room we stayed in and generally of hotel conditions

Run down, bathroom smells damp and fusty bar and restaurant area poor hotel needs a refurbishment

Location and staff. Clearly going through transition, but staff were honest, helpful and professional.

The whole place needs a revamp it was very tired and needed help, location was perfect for us a 20min walk to the town centre which was good as there is nothing near the hotel.
