Great location , staff were always around to help with any issues. It is an older hotel so keep that in mind

The room was fairly well presented, although was very cold on arrival. The heating was on but the radiator was only luke warm. Obviously a problem as a small electric fan heater was in the room which was needed to warm up the room on arrival and on return later in the evening having been out for a meal. The breakfast was a total let down in that having been advised online and by staff on arrival that breakfast was served from 7-11 am, on going for breakfast at 9.30 we were advised that there was no hot food available, only a continental breakfast, which consisted of cereals and cold croissants/pains au chocolate. Hot breakfasts were only available from 10 am when the Chef started. We were the only diners and the staff proceeded to clear away everything before 10 am which meant we could not have anything apart from what we had initially put on our plate, although we were still drinking our coffee.

Suite was freezing cold, luckily there was a small fan heater and a cozy dressing gown. Loved all the little touches like the sweeties and tea cakes. Disliked the area, didn’t feel safe walking back to the hotel in the dark.

The hotel has a modern twist and is great value for money in terms of food and drink.The suites are worth the extra.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now. The only negative comment I would make was the room I was in had single glazing and the weather was extremely cold so was quite cold in the room, but the hotel is clean, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, very professional. The bar area is really comfortable and the food is excellent. Both times we have stayed we have eaten in the Hotel every night which we never do in any of the hotels we have ever stayed in. The Carmelite would be one of my first choices if staying in Aberdeen overnight, as it is a lovely place to stay if you want a good location, good food and very good staff.

We were very happy with our twin room - en suite had bath with shower over. Beds very comfortable - hairdryer iron and ironing board in room big plus for me. Also nice toiletries in bathroom. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. We ate in one night as we were going to a concert and the food was very nice as was the breakfast. Would certainly stay here again .
