Comfort Inn Norwalk - Sandusky

The breakfast was very poor. The the staff in that area was not friendly nor helpful.

Before we even arrived, we were hung up on and when we did get through, we were told it was a $25 charge to check in early. It was 1:30 so we waited until after the car show. When we finally checked in, the couch in the room was covered in crumbs and debris. Called the front desk for house keeping, but the front desk guy came up, was rude and used a Dustbuster and swept the crumbs on the floor. He went to just flip the cushion, but that only revealed all of the stains. The curtains were shredded like in a haunted house. There was peeling paint and mold in the bathroom and shower. I thought the shower was cracked but realized it was just hairs. Yuck. The doors had stains, the chair looked like something I would throw out, the table had gunk on it, and the mirrors had spots. There were flies on the mirror and most the light bulbs were dead. Since it was late, we tried to sleep, but the air conditioner fan never stopped running, even though the compressor wouldn’t kick on. The sheets got moist, and we both woke up with bug bites. Fell asleep around 4 but was woken up by a fire alarm at 5. No one evacuated and there was never an all clear. We were charged $263 for this nightmare. Manager has not responded to me.

The guy that is on the afternoon shift is the rudest and obnoxious person I have ever met. He had a fit when I asked for a different room because the a/c was not working. I also had to check out a day early because the project we were working on was finished. I told him about checking out a day early and he said ok. I did not look at the receipt when I checked out. I was charged for an extra day, even though I was not there. I called about the over charge, I even gat the same rude person. He told me they needed 48hr notice and proceeded to hang up on me. I told my company about this and we will not be staying at this hotel anymore. Stay away, there are better hotels around.

Hotel was extremely dirty -hair everywhere, floors not vacuumed, boogers on bathroom and shower walls, dried urine on toilet seat, stains on headboard,etc. Do yourself a favor and sort reviews by 'most recent' to skip all of the obviously fake 10 star reviews. There is absolutely no way that ANYONE would rate this place 10 out of 10.

This hotel is extremely dirty and unkept, beds were fine but hallways and room carpet look like they have not been vacuumed in some time. Breakfast area tables have not been cleaned from previous people...stay as far way as you can

Dirty, property not cared for

When we arrived the room was dusty on every surface. The phone in our room did not work. We stayed for 3 days and no one ever came to fix the phone. We never had maid service. And the best part was when the fire alarm went off at 6AM for a false alarm. When I got home we noticed that they charged us an extra service fee, we thought we were paid in full with Expedia

We checked in 4 hours late due to traveling and our room was not cleaned. We walked up with all of our luggage to a door wide open and dirty towels, bedding and linen. When going to the front desk to ask for a different room I had to ring the bell and phone for 10 mins before someone came to the front. He rudely said I’ll just give you a refund and I explained that there were no other hotels in the area with vacancy and asked to just have the room cleaned to stay as we had no choice with several children to drive around finding a new hotel. 30-35 mins later the room was cleaned but sheets were stained, and comforters were not changed out. Rude staff, dirty rooms, unprofessional. I would never stay here again

Blood/Red Dye in room

Do not even consider stopping here, let alone staying. It takes a lot for me to not have something good to say about a facility. The facility was disgusting, the manager, Bob, rude and belligerent. A list of charges for guest "misbehavior" was on the front counter, which also indicated that there was no house cleaning services! An "incidental deposit" of $100 wasn't a deposit at all...it was a fee we were charged, probably to jack up the room rate for a Saturday night stay. At 5:00 p.m. check-in, we were assigned a room that hadn't been cleaned yet, so reassigned to a room 3 doors down. Towel bar was falling off the bathroom wall. Towels were thin and some threadbare. Microwave from previous guest hadn't been cleaned, leaving behind smelly food and bugs inside. Unusual streak stains on the bed headboard. Nonfunctional outside side door keypad, so the door latch was taped over so door wouldn't lock; no security from outside intruders. Elevator quit working for a while. Carpet on stairs was dirty and not vacuumed. Trash can outside the side door was overflowing and wasn't emptied for 2 days we were there. Finding the dirty microwave the morning after staying for 2 nights was the last straw, so I asked to check out without penalty for the 3rd night. Manager said he wouldn't do it. It wasn't until I showed him the photo of the microwave - to which he asked if I wanted the room cleaned - that he agreed to let me out of the pre-charged 3rd night. Why was I precharged? He absolutely refused to give me a paper receipt upon checking out and walked out on me (would only email it to me), even though the guest in front of me received a paper receipt. I can only hope that we get the refund on our credit card for the 3rd night we didn't stay.
