Hotel Riu Playacar - All Inclusive

Had a nice stay. Lots of entertainment, good selection of food. The AC in the rooms could be better. Beds are hard to sleep on.

What a wonderful place to stay, already planning a return trip. Hotel is full of activities if you want them or chilled and relaxed if that’s your thing. Rooms cleaned daily and really comfy. Food was great, top tip, if you get bored of lunch food in the buffet head up to the Italian in the lobby for a lovely lunch, same menu as dinner menu. The evening shows were good fun. Staff kind and attentive. Visited the spa twice, although quite pricey it was worth every penny. No air con bars but there is a lovely breeze most of the time, would recommend taking little fans if you feel the heat. Quite a lot of walking if you have someone with less than steady legs, we requested ground floor rooms for this reason and luckily we were in block 8 near the pools and lunch buffet, just something to bear in mind when booking. Just wonderful and sad to bed home.

Stayed at this resort coming from Texas and as soon as we got there everything was amazing. Staff, service, food, drinks, and maintenance was great

We had an amazing time and the hotel with staff were great, helpful and friendly. Lots of things to do on the hotel grounds and in the local area.

Excellent hotel very clean ,all staff were so kind really made this place special ,the food was very good with a vast selection to choose from, easy access to sun loungers around the pool area not much of that towels on seats nonsense which was a big plus .If were lucky enough to to visit again this will be the hotel of choice for us .

Wonderful ambience and physical setting. Room was immaculate. View! Spectacular! Services all easy access and given with a smile. Cocktails were superlative. Activities around the pool and the entertainment were a lot of fun. Much appreciated the friendliness and approachability of the staff. We enjoyed yoga and pool aerobics. Indigenous dancers and acrobats were amazing. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. We understand that you cater to a wide variety of palates, but we found the meat and fish dry and flavorless and other dishes lacked seasoning and flavor. As mentioned it was my third stay at Riu Playacar: in 2000, 2006 and this visit. Wondering if the more expensive Riu properties like Riu Palace might have better food? So sorry that the seaweed and smell are part of the experience, but understand it is out of your control. Maintenance of the beach was diligent and was much appreciated.

Great stay overall… just need a few upgrades in some areas like pools.

Food was good, but you could get some of the same foods in other restaurants, it would have been better to introduce new foods rather than having the same foods. Bed was fine no issues. Internet was fine no issues. Hygiene with flies on food, they need fly catchers and repellents around the hotel. I saw loads of flies on the fruit which was a bad experience, the service staff didn’t care when I pointed it out. Hotel check-in was very poor! Not impressed I’m filing a complaint for this because we missed out on key activities.

I enjoyed my experience. We were located walking distance from the main area of entertainment.
