Food was not very good

Riu always delivers outstanding services and food. Can't do much about mother nature and the seaweed problem throughout the Caribbean coastlines.

We loved our stay here at RIU playacar! Our first time visiting Mexico and we would definitely stay at this resort again.

Absolutely no complaints, room was clean and spacious , food was varied and tasty, with optional restaurants, short walk across to the local market, friendly staff, clean pools .. can't fault it!

The food was ok, mostly buffet style and a little repetitive. The service was good. The rooms need a little updating, and the AC didn't work well in one of our two rooms... they attempted to repair it, but it wouldn't get low enough to combat the humidity. The water in the sink is not drinkable, which is understandable in Mexico, but most of the places I've stayed before you don't need to worry about brushing your teeth with the sink water.

This is our second year staying here and we can't wait for next year. I will say some of the food is blah, but majority of the food is so good! Each year that I've been here I've had a birthday and they celebrate you just like your best friends would! I connected with certain bar tenders and they make sure you're well taken care of throughout your stay - it's not hard to just ask them how their day is and I bet they appreciate that small simple question! Already excited for next year!

Hotel excelente, refeições impecáveis e nem precisamos agendar os restaurantes temáticos. Tinha de tudo e sempre em ótima qualidade. Infelizmente o salgazo impediu de usarmos o mar, porém o que não demandava de ações externas, o hotel entregou. Senti um pouco de falta de música, já que só tocava na piscina com bar para adultos. Chegamos 2h antes e autorizam nosso acesso sem qualquer dificuldade, check-in perfeito

A fantastic and relaxing much needed break spent with family, lovely weather and great staff, this is our 10th Riu and i can honestly say they have always made our holiday. Froy and Alberto are a credit and really deserve a mention as the best bar tenders, a credit to the place.
