Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta

Not sure how this resort got it's #2 status in Puerto Vallarta. It's 45 years old, starting to get a bit rough around the edges, but nothing bad enough to get upset about. The a la carte restaurants are fantastic, I'll give it that, even the main buffet is pretty decent. Most staff friendly and helpful. That about wraps it up for the good stuff.... The pool....beautiful to look at but unbelievably warm, pretty much a giant hot tub. I have a pool and hot tub at home, I can gauge temps pretty well - this one was at 87, maybe 88 deg. The beach was closed the entire time we were there so you get to swelter in the Mexican heat and have absolutely no way to cool down. 87-88 deg water does not have an appreciable cooling effect. It's good for rinsing the sweat off, that's about it. Plus, the pool is huge and only has stairs at one end. The rest of it, you have to climb out using these seating ledges....not great if you're getting on in years or are not a gymnast. The usual resort problem with people "reserving" pool chairs is rampant here, despite the resort having a posted policy that this is not acceptable. But they do nothing about it. And those pool chairs are the most uncomfortable I've ever seen. Might as well be lying on plywood, they're so hard. All that aside, the main reason for the 1-star review is our interaction with the manager, one Vanessi Gonzales. We spoke to her, told her we'd been there 8 days and had yet to really enjoy ourselves, for all the above reasons. Plus, we'd been served a disgusting pizza the previous evening, and on this day, had been served a pretty-much raw hamburger (which I showed her). I asked her about the lack of enforcement of their clearly-stated pool chair policy as well. Her response was to tell us she had "bigger issues" elsewhere. Not a hint of an apology, or what can we do to make it up to you, nothing. So long Sheraton, it wasn't nice knowing you.

I spent a morning at the Sheraton's spa doing the hydrotherapy experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality, different therapy, rooms and pools. Each individual has a personal guide to take them through the experience. I started in a steam room, then went to sauna where are my guide brought me cool washcloths and flavored water. From there, you go into a cold plunge pool and then. Bubbling pool, where you sit on a bench to regulate your temperature. There, my guide brought me a chocolate and a glass of juice which was a nice added touch. Then I got into a giant hot tub pool with jets underwater, as well as high-pressure faucets above the water that sprayed down on you feeling like a massage. It was a fantastic experience. Once you've been to all of the different pools, you are free to go back into any of the pools or rooms. I went back to the sauna, and then did the cold plunge, the warm bubbling, pool, and hot tub again. I was also able to relax on some lounge chairs inside the building set aside just for the hydrotherapy guests. My guide, then brought me cookies and tea as I relaxed by the pool. While I saw some people just hurry through the experience and spend no more than 30 minutes, I was there for 2 1/2 hours, thoroughly enjoying each step of the process and returning again and again to my favorite therapy, rooms and pools. If you plan to go, I suggest taking your time and getting them most out of the experience. My guide, Esmeralda, was wonderful. She was very attentive and brought me water, washcloths, juice, tea, and checked on me multiple times. Overall, the experience far exceeded my expectations.

올 인크루시브로 돈을 더주고 이용했는데 일부 저녁 디너는 선착순이라는게 말이 안된다 그리고 사용일 2일차에는 에약가능한곳이 2곳뿐이였다. 올 인크루시브에 대한 혜택이 전혀 없다.

We love the Sheraton and have stayed for many years! One thing that makes this place so special is the hardworking team behind the scenes! The grounds and the gardens are maintained so beautifully by people like Vicky Cruz, always friendly with a smile. We think people like Vicky should be recognized for her hard work and her kindness.

Feels like the perfect resort for get away!! From the arrival to the departure!! The staff make you feel welcome !! Couple. Shout outs to our waiter by the pool GAMMA.The swim up bar is the best! Great service!! The fitness staff Luis, Jimenr along with all the activities employees made things so much fun!! They really bring it in every way!! All the Buffett staff wonderful!!

Prepaid reservation booked directly on Marriott.com was not honored. Hotel charged my Amex using an inflated exchange rate , resulting in a higher total than agreed of more than 20% more. Management refused to correct it. Travelers should beware of forced currency conversion and predatory exchange rates at this property. In addition, at the buffet restaurant - tip was included on the bill and the waiter also requested additional tip using the credit card terminal (which was a percentages based upon the already included tip amount on the original bill).

Very happy with the Consierge in general. We had great service from Esmeralda and Omar in particular. One aggravating problem was the coffee maker was broken, and try as I might I couldn’t convince the lady in charge of housekeeping to change it. She insisted that it worked but after a few cups, it failed over and over. On the fifth morning I DEMANDED at the front desk that it be replaced. Finally it was replaced.

Luis was so energetic and funny. We enjoyed his activities. He made is feel welcome like a friend.
