Independence 47 Hotel

Good location for our purposes. Big parking lot, large lobby. The female staff was very unfriendly, but efficient. Room rather large, nice bathroom, furniture all very good, wonderful beds. Obviously renovated. Quiet at night. Good desk, good lights, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Wifi worked ok, but better near the door. TV worked only after we got help, twice. Grounds very nice, inner courtyard with lawn, large established trees. Big pool and jacuzzis. Breakfast was miserable, a bag with a little juice, an unsavory pastry, and an apple. Due do Covid-19, I guess. Normally, a hot breakfast, I think.

If you’re looking for a couple days off of work stay here. You will have to call into work due to back injuries from the beds and neck problems from the pillows.

I understand there was no real breakfast and the fitness room was closed because of the virus. The hot tub was not working correctly. Everyone was very friendly

This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel and after staying this time it will Definitely be my Last. During this stay my suite was filthy just absolutely dirty. Both sinks in the bathroom were dirty and had not be cleaned because there was Ring’s around the sink basin and both sinks drained very slow. The floor in the bathroom was dirty evidence of human hair all over the floor. The suites floor had not been vacuumed because it had long grey hair all over it. I inquired about the floor and even just the room being cleaned by housekeeping I was informed by the housekeeper and front desk that the room gets cleaned after a3 day stay. So that meant my bathroom wasn’t cleaned my bed wasn’t made no vacuuming of the floor. The only thing that housekeeping did was provide clean towels and emptied my trash. Outside there were random people walking around that weren’t guest of the hotel. In fact the security door used to enter the suites was broken so there was no need to use the room keycard to enter the building which allowed people not guest of the hotel to use the electricity outlet in the hallway to charge their phones. I am very disappointed in the stay at this hotel when I enjoyed my stay the first 2 times there. Again I won’t pay nor recommend anyone to stay at this establishment.

A bit droll, but this was not one with many amenities sought. It might have been due to COVID restrictions and made the flow constrained. Uncovered parking in hot sun. Neither refrigerator nor coffee pot were plugged in. Otherwise, yes, a pool, hot tub, quiet/safe area.

Highly recommend the suit rooms. They are perfect especially if you have kids. Overall clean place and friendly staff.

The staff was mostly friendly and they were accommodating when I mentioned that I reserved a King bed and they put us in a double queen. Unfortunately our room did not have hot water. I left the shower knob on hot for about 20 minutes and it never once got hot.

Front desk was very helpful. Have been staying at this property for the last 4 yrs & am sorry to say it has been declining. Housekeeping needs to do a better job. I actually bought a can of Comet & scrubbed away a boot print that had been waxed into the bathroom floor.
