Lovely hotel and great ambience throughout.

Spain is quite a warm country and I was only given one 250ml bottle of water for the day. If I required more, I had to buy! The hotel listed that it had parking facilities, however it wasn't expressly mentioned. It's a whopping €21 per day, even for guests.

La habitación, las instalaciones para los más pequeños y el trato del personal fueron aspectos muy positivos de la estancia.

La comida del bufet era bastante mejorable. Estaba demasiado orientada a turistas poco exigentes, con una calidad que dejaba bastante que desear. Además, en el gimnasio había varias máquinas que no funcionaban correctamente.

Tout étais comme sur la description. Hôtel et personnel très agréable.

This as an official 4* hotel but in many areas it deserves a 5* rating but lets itself down in a couple of areas. The building itself is immaculate, spacious, and of high quality. The grounds are massive with dedicated pool area, childrens club and playground, fitness area, internal spa and gym. Some of the pool area is covered in artificial grass which is excellent. Pool bar is very handy. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, providing free wifi, flat screen tv, kettle, minibar. Amazing big bed with a choice of pillows. There are free toileteries in the bathrooms but here is the first negative - the shower is an over-bath one with a very high sided bath making it difficult to get in and out, and no anti-slip bath mat is provided. In our bathroom there was ample room to provide a walk in shower - surely the times when people wanted baths on holiday are long gone? Staff are plentiful and amazingly friendly and helpful although room cleaning was a bit random with regard to timing. The selection of food in the restaurant was great with everything you could ever want on the buffet but here comes the second negative. On only two occasions was the hot food selection anything like warm - it was generally at best lukewarm and at worst cold - not improved by the fact that the plates were not even warmed. We ate at different times to see if we noticed any difference but unfortunately the same experience (both breakfast and dinner) - this negative aspect needs addressing. Drinks from the bars are very expensive at £4 for a small beer and £10 for a vodka and tonic, but a nice surprising touch is that free wine, sangria and beer are available during dinner! Location wise it is very good - just a 7 minute walk to the old town and beach - but coming back to the hotel on foot is quite a climb through the gardens. Car parking is available on site. With a couple of improvements this could easily be a 5* hotel, and even given the above we wouldn't hesitate to come back if we ever took a holiday in Lloret again.
