This is a totally charming place. We loved the setting, the gorgeous grounds, the heated pool and hot tub at night, the illuminated tiny concert hall, the lovely people at breakfast. Lovely shower, charming decor. Highly recommend!

Great getaway in the Berkshires! Beautiful, unique property. Very comfortable suite; lovely bathroom and comfortable bed! We really enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and property. Great departure point for exploring the Berkshires, VT and NY!

We love Porches. The staff is wonderful, the continental breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are comfortable. We make an annual trip here to enjoy what the Northern Berkshires has to offer (Mass MoCA, the Clark, hiking)

Porches is a cute little rustic inn in small town MA. Beautiful area to visit. We had some great hikes and it was about a 50 min drive to Tanglewood.

Beautiful and peaceful property. Perfect for our last minute mother daughter get away. The staff was friendly and helpful.

When it comes to rooms, we are typically a “you get what you get” couple. Meaning-we take the room that we are assigned. The Porches proved to be the exception. After returning to the front desk because our room was too close to the road in front of the property, we were offered another room in a more quiet area. The front desk greeter and Manager were very accommodating which we appreciated. The decor of the hotel is what might be described as “shabby chic”. No complaints other than some of the “vintage” furnishings seemed more like Goodwill than flea market or antique store acquisitions. The room was fine, mattress was medium firm and the pillows were fluffy. Good thermostat for regulating temperature and extremely quiet HVAC system. Hot water came out quickly from the shower head and nice touch with the Porches custom bathrobes. Breakfast was very nice - Bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon, locally produced yogurt, Vermont cheese, freshly cooked scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, etc. You get the picture. The hot tub was very pleasant and a nice way to meet fellow travelers. Although we didn’t go into the pool, it looked very clean. A nice getaway in a lovely area.

This felt like the right combination of old and new. In some old places, you’re afraid to sit on the furniture, but not here. We were entranced by the spaciousness of the suite, and the ability to relax and read. The pool was awesome! Loved the museum combo deal. Can’t wait to come back! Would recommend to others! P.S. Great breakfast, but the mugs were nowhere near the coffee/tea, I might move them to the shelf underneath the urns. I also missed the yoghurt tucked away below.

Parents who are considering staying here for a rare weekend away from the kids should know about their approach/inflexibility if things crop up last-minute as they can with kiddos! The property is still as great as we remembered when we stayed here for a wedding a decade ago. However, we have a bad taste in our mouth because on the day we were supposed to arrive, our oldest daughter woke up with an illness. Same-day Dr's appointments are hard so earliest we could get was late afternoon. It ended up being strep throat so we couldn’t come on the first day. We called asking for flexibility or credit and were told no. We asked for extended check-out and were granted 1 hour but told any additional time would be $$ per hour. Just not a parent-friendly or customer-centric approach. We love the property but aren't likely coming back or giving good reviews online or word of mouth because of this approach.
