The hotel has old world charm. The rooms are large and comfortable. We were facing another hotel across a side street and it was absolutely quiet even though we were a block off a main roadway. The breakfast is excellent and worth the cost; a good selection of product plus they provide coffee and cook eggs as requested. We had a great stay and it is a short walk to public transit. Avoid a taxi or Uber as traffic can be horrific and transit is faster and easier.

We reserved a midlevel room, the category with 2 twin beds 248 sq ft. We were checked in to a very old and very dated room 210. The bathroom was super tiny without even a toilet paper holder on the wall. The toilet paper was put on a little table that was in the bathroom since there were no shelves or counters due to the extremely small size. Biggest issue was that there was black mold in the minibar frig in the room. I have injectable medication that needs to be keep refrigerated so this was a huge concern for health and safety. We notified the front desk and they said they would have housekeeping come and take a look. Housekeeping said it was paper stuck to the surface of the refrigerator because they had recently cleaned it. My husband was able to scrape the mold with his finger showing housekeeping it was not paper. I informed both housekeeping and the front desk that I did not consider this safe and asked that they either changed the mini bar fridge or change our room. The gal working the front desk said she would not do either since it was paper and had been removed. I informed her it was clearly mold and showed her the pictures. I asked again to please change our room or change the mini fridge since this was not a safe situation. I asked for the manager, about 30 minutes waiting the manager came and said she would change our room. This should’ve been done right away when the problem was identified rather than taking us over an hour of arguing with the front desk and housekeeping!! This is an old hotel that is in need of a lot of maintenance and upkeep. They also have bus loads of tours that show up and check in and that may be their main clientele. They are far from accommodating to individual travelers, especially when there is a problem with the room. Our new room is fine room 102 - seems cleaner but still very dated. It at least has the toilet paper attached to a toilet paper holder on the wall versus sitting on a table and no mold in the mini fridge.
