Best Western Hotel Tritone

I will start with the positives of this hotel. Its opposite the train station and only 100 metres from the buses. So perfect for getting to and from Venice City and the Airport. Its only €3 return on the train per person to the City. There are in my opinion many negatives to this hotel. On arrival we had to wait at Reception despite being the only guests, for almost 15 minutes without even being acknowledged, to check in. The member of staff answered a phone call and dealt with that and didnt even apologise for the delay. He told us we had the last room in the Hotel M12. The room was very very basic ... no wardrobe, just 8 hangers hanging on poles. No drawers to put personal belongings in. There was a dressing table but the TV was above it no mirror. Strangely there was a chair but didnt see the point of that when you couldn't use the dressing table. I ended up using a pouffe as my dressing table up against a big mirror. The hairdryer was awful kept cutting out so couldn't dry my hair properly. The bed was ok but really could do with new mattresses as there were large dents. The shower never drained properly and flooded the bathroom floor so I had to clear the water up with towels every time we had showers. Its obvious the plug hole/drain needed cleaning .... hense the flood. The safe in the room was literally on the floor so if you struggle getting on your knees on the floor you've no chance using it .... not practical at all. The breakfast room was very tiny and you were on top of each other having breakfast. At one point my husband had to ask a lady to move her chair in as he was completely trapped. Not ideal at all. The walls where we were sat were full of food stains and there was a small dado rail which I could have written my name in the dust it had clearly never been cleaned. If you wanted a teaspoon for your cuppa these were nowhere to be seen you had to ask for them and even then there was a struggle for staff to get them.

Great location next to Venezia Mestre station, lovely clean and modern room.

Very nice staff, great location, train takes 10 minutes directly to the canal. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended from me. There is also a bus to the airport, the stop is only 5 minutes walk away.

O hotel fica na frente da estação de Mestre o que facilita o deslocamento para Veneza e cidades vizinhas. Quarto limpo, iluminado e disponibilizam água e café free. Ambiente silencioso. Café da manhã padrão americano.

nice breakfast buffet - good value. Very helpful staff.

Our bathroom had a bad smell that came and went and that seemed to be coming from the drains. We covered the drains with towels and kept the bathroom door shut - that kept the smell down and out of the rest of the room. The hinges on the door to our patio were damaged - the door almost came off so we left it shut.

The breakfast was really good. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel needs major upgrades.
