Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Chicago St. Charles

My bathroom was not clean. The toilet and the shower had hair from another person.

We are gold elite members of Marriott Bonvoy and were extremely dissatisfied with our breakfast experience on day one of a 5-day stay. The food serving area was filthy. Spilled food on counters and on floor. The only tongs I found to remove my toast from the very slow toaster were metal (unsafe for toaster) and crusted with food. But worse than that was the carton of milk for my oatmeal. The milk was so old it was green with chunks floating. We ate out the email 4 mornings. Horrible experience!

We had a corner room, king with pull out sofa. So spacious!

All nice for a 1 night stay. Little loud outside in parking lot at 10 pm. Settled down. Continental breakfast is marginal, but not unexpected. Most hotel chains have reduced that quality level for food since covid

it was a typical breakfast but the room was too warm to sit in it.

we were there 3 days and not once did the room get cleaned, the towels replaced, or the trash taken out. when I talked to the front desk their excuse was, they were short staffed. Also, when we booked they did not mention they are remodeling, so no weight room and the pool was empty. when I asked about a refund on the price the desk clerk said he could not do anything and I assume he didn't talk to the manager.

We are currently teaching my three year old son how to swim. Part of that process is swimming more often with him. When we were looking at hotels we really wanted a hotel with a swimming pool. I chose Fairfield Inn because they advertised that they had one. Upon arrival (July 2nd 2025) we found that they drained the pool. It should be illegal to advertise something you no longer have! The staff were new and untrained. Our receptionist struggled to get us booked into a room. While we were out to celebrate the 4th of July (2025) a cleaner threw away my son’s soiled clothing that I left in a plastic bag. The cleaner, however, didn’t throw out all of our actual trash that was in a trash can. The room smelled of some sort of chemical treatment. Worst of all the side door used for entry (supposedly only to people who have key cards) was broken and left open permanently. I did not feel safe with it open and our room being right by that door. I would not recommend staying at Fairfield Inn.

Manager was truly nice. Staff all excellent especially the evening African-American lady and her mother Deborah!

Tub for a shower was tiny (and I only weigh160# at 5'8")

Staff was very polite, friendly and helpful.

Was there at check in time of 3pm, had to wait till almost 4pm to get in the room, making us late for family event. Room was billed as a suite, but was super small.we needed to use the pull out sofa, but you had to climb over the sofa bed to get to the bathroom. Cracked tiles in bathroom and not enough towels washcloths for 3. Pillows were small and flimsy. No abily to charge via ethernet cable, like other hotels have had available for years. Pool was being repaired but they did not say anything about no pool till my 14yr old grandson went looking for it. Breakfast buffet was very limited. Will not be going back.

i was disappointed i was looking forward to using the hot tub but it was being renovated, i picked this place because of the hot tub
