Residence Inn Milwaukee Downtown

The River walk is terrific. Felt safe while walking.

This is the second time we've stayed here. Its very nice for the price and there is sonmuch to do in the area.

Location and friendliness of staff

Bathroom should be re-tiled. Need better brighter lighting in kitchen area

This is a terrible property. The hotel is very old and rooms are dated. From the bathroom to the kitchenette area to the furnishings. The hotel is inadequate. In addition, parking is limited so we were told to park across the street in a public parking structure that didn't feel very secure and safe. At check-in, we were given the wrong room type and told there was an error in their system. Then I didn't receive my Gold benefit check-in gift unil I requested it which were free water bottles as I was in the process to buy a water bottle. I would not stay at this property again and I would point travelers to other options.

The location was excellent, and the room was spacious with high ceilings. it was clean and featured a comfortable bed and sofa. We certainly plan to return in the future.

After reading some of the reviews, I was worried, but I hadn't needed to be. We were on the 5th floor with a great view of the river. We could even see all the way down Wisconsin Ave to the lake. And the city lights at night were breathtaking. The one bedroom suite was huge with tall ceilings. It was updated and clean. I had read that some people had had car break-ins in the past; however, when we were there, the underground parking had a closed gate that only opened with a room key. Similarly, you could only get down to the parking structure on an elevator for which you needed a room key. Even though we checked out at 11 am, we were able to stay in the hotel assigned parking structure until 5pm. We really enjoyed our time along the Riverwalk and our stay at the Residence Inn enhanced that.

I love everything about this hotel. The location, the large rooms, the fact that it is dog friendly and the staff made this stay perfect!
