The Ven at Embassy Row, Washington, D.C., a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The hotel is lovely. The employees at the Ven made the trip absolutely wonderful. Helen, Cookie, Kamil, Negash and Faceel are some of the best. How a hotel has such a warm, welcoming and above average staff is remarkable. I didn't meet any of the housekeeping staff but, our room was always fresh and clean. We enjoyed the roof top pool (it was a summery September weekend) and the bar/restaurant area. The hotel is up the street from Dupont Circle. Restaurants, cafes and museums all within a short walking distance. We thank the staff at the Ven for making our trip so memorable.

Staff were excellent and kind

Location was ok and it was clean.

Poor communication to start. No reply of my enquiries. Buffet not available. Card charged every night for deposit money and on one occasion it charged 700 dollars which cancelled on request. No explanation. Overall polite staff but front desk staff didn’t know much and a manager needs to come and sorted out matters. Beds are queen size but not comfortable and suitable for 2 people.

The hotel and staff were remarkably accommodating. I had to stow my bag before check in and after check out and they were all so friendly and prompt. Negesh made sure everything went smoothly upon my departure.

Second time staying and I have to say the experience was much better. Still no friendship bracelet, still got sick the one time I ate at the hotel restaurant, and still had to lug luggage up/down those front 20 stairs with bad knees....but the room was so much better. On the second floor so no view except rocks and roof, but a huge two bed room, with a large bathroom. Tub still smelled like mildew, but being on the other side of the hotel, away from the elevators, the sleep quality was 10/10. Would not stay here again, but the room size and location made all the difference.

The staff were very friendly and the manager helped me to arrange my parking at the hotel for the first night since it was not clear if that was included in the room charge. He was very nice to take off a considerable amount. This is how you make people happy.

Be more clear about parking in your advertisements. Parking around the hotel is very difficult and requires constantly moving your vehicle to avoid tickets or towing. But parking in the hotel garage is also very very expensive if you stay for a few nights. This is really disappointing as customers are already paying a lot for the room. Consider reducing your parking costs...

Great location

The roof terrace was closed despite the weather being in the high 70’s! Would have been nice to make use of the facility even if the pool was unavailable.

Our favorite place to stay whenever my fiancée and I come to DC ! Highly recommend!

It’s a great hotel and rooftop pool, and the DuPont Circle area is fantastic. Just be aware that kids under 18 are not allowed in the pool area after 5 or 6:00 (can’t remember the exact time). The hotel website explains that, but I don’t think that Expedia does.
