Zannos Melathron

We arrived from the sleepy island of Folegandros to the port and hustle and bustle of Santorini harbour, but were very quickly whisked away to the lovely hotel which was peaceful, calm and our idea of paradise. We were greeted by a donkey to carry our luggage up to the village, then shown the hotel and its facilities by attentive and smiling staff, who spoke great English and told us all about the hotel and its history. The room was gorgeous, so rather than taking advantage of the lovely dinner menu, we enjoyed our last night of holiday with room service, and DVD's in our luxury accommodation. Very decadant. We went early in the season, so there were only a few other guests, which made us feel more special, we had the pool to ourselves, the spa area and sun terraces, and a '3 course' breakfast, which was included in the price, when we wanted. The reason we chose it in the first place was because it was very convenient as a last night stayover, from the port to the airport, and the hotel arranged a transfer bus for both trips. It didn't feel like a stop over hotel at all, though i would use it as such again. It was a real treat, though not our usual choice of hotel, and something i would reccommend to all.
