Zannos Melathron

This hotel is in an ultra high hill. They use a donkey to bring your luggage to the room. You of course need to climb there. A workout every time. Hotel is far from Fira and Oia. Need a rental car to move around or pay expensive taxis. Stay in Oia or Fira.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. One of the nicest aspects was the relaxed atmosphere, including a distinct absence of those petty hotels rules such as "breakfast between 8 & 10" or " must vacate your room by a certain time". Excellent staff who were very helpful and made our stay that much more enjoyable- a real find!

The staff were amazing - made you feel like you were in your own home! Beautiful building! Breakfast served till 2pm was very relaxing. The pool and spa were alos lovely! Overall a great experience!

Lovely Island, great hotel and superb staff who made the holiday exceptional. I am lucky enough to have travelled all around the world and stayed in some great and not so great hotels. Zannos is one of the best and most of this down to the team who work there and treated me and my wife so well. The service is personal, friendly and at the same time low key. Its not fussy, pretentious or fawning and all in all it just works so well. Whoever is the owner of this hotel needs to give their staff a big a big thank you and a nice bonus. We didn't want to leave and recommend it highly - 5 stars

I have spent nights at hotels all over the world. This place was awesome. View of Santorini is fantastic. Sunset was breath taking. Best service of any hotel that I have been in in some time. Definitely would stay there again. It isn't in Fira, if that is where you want to stay. The front desk helped us rent bicycles, which apparently isn't something tourists do in Santorini. We loved it: We biked all over the island. The surrounding neighborhood was lovely. Tour buses bring tourists from Fira and other parts of the island to visit, wander the alleyways etc. We didn't need a tour bus because that was where we already were!

The hotel was awesome and this was the best room I ever stayed in - a "new cave" that was huge and really impressive. The food was overpriced and "ok", but the people were, if anything, overly attentive. warning: Be sure to arrange for the donkeys to get your bags. We took a cab and my poor husband had to carry over 200 lbs of luggage straight up the steps (about 8 blocks). They called him a "hero"

We have been delighted and had a great time at Zannos Melathron. Alexander, the hotel manager, is a great host. All the staff there was really nice and friendly. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast menu is impressive and the food is of very good quality. Have dinner there, you will not regret it! The chef is amazing. The view from the breakfast/dinner area is stunning. The location of the hotel, in Pyrgos, is ideal to travel around the island. We have been very pleased and would surely choose Zannos Melathron again if we were to come back to Santorini.

My husband and I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Great service, wonderful location away from the crowded tourist seaport of Fira, and charming neighborhood. Very romantic. I would also recommend renting a car to explore the island at your own pace.

The Zannos Melathron is a fantastic hotel. The staff are so friendly and the service was great, would definitely recommend staying there. We had dinner at the hotel one night, it was delicious especially the Greek starter.
