We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed most aspects of this hotel. The best parts were: (1) the location, (2) the front desk staff and valet, (3) everything about the room, and (4) proximity to Dry Creek Kitchen. The worst part was the lack of service in the bar/dining area, which was shocking for such a pricey hotel. We went down for breakfast the first morning and couldn't even get anyone's attention, let alone a menu. The server told us she was too stressed out to talk. We would have had better breakfast service at a budget hotel. We had to leave and walk down the street for breakfast. We experienced a similar service issue in the early evening in the bar area. This property needs to address their staffing issues. It's a big miss. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

"Stella's Favorite"

10.0

We visit the Healdsburg area biannually for winetasting and relaxation. We have stayed at other hotels in the area but Hotel Healdsburg has become our favorite place to stay. The location is perfect. We are in the center of town and can easily walk to ;restaurants and shopping. We like staying in a room facing the park. The town is there to greet us in the morning as we open our windows to start a new day. The breakfast is a nice perk. It gets us started for the day. The hotel is pet friendly which is important to us. Our road trips include Stella, a happy frenchie who loves to travel with us. She has come to know the staff and loves their pets and treats. From this location, you can go wine tasting in the Dry Creek Valley, Russian River area, and Geyserville. We have already decide to return in April and will again choose to stay at Hotel Healdsburg. I am a bit fussy and appreciate the hotel is always clean and well kept. They make our stay an easy way to travel.

"Overall very good but......"

8.0

Overall we enjoyed our recent stay at Hotel Healdsburg. As with most of our hotel experiences there were some positives and some negatives. Some Positives: Great location right on the plaza. Short walk to restaurants, etc. Service overall (housekeeping, car valet) was generally very good. Breakfast food was quite good. Room and bathroom size were good, but... (see negatives) Bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. Although our room (3rd floor) faced the plaza we did not find traffic noise to be excessive or bothersome, as. some other reviewers complained about. Some Negatives: Although the room and bathroom were of good size they were not designed well from a practical standpoint. For example, the room closet was very small, room safe was in an inconvenient location, no towel racks or storage space in the bathroom. We have encountered this sort of thing in other hotels. It seems that many designers are more interested in "looks" than practicalities. Breakfast was only served until 10 am. For a hotel which caters largely to people on vacation and are not in a rush to start their day the breakfast should be until 11 am, as we have experienced in other hotels. (full disclosure: we are not "early risers").

"Lovely hotel but beware of bedbugs, low accountability, and serious street noise"

4.0

I stayed at Hotel Healdsburg two weeks ago with my mother and young son. We had a lovely time during our stay — the staff were kind, the rooms comfortable, and the service lived up to expectations. (Only complaint while there was that I requested a quiet room and we were street facing. It was SO LOUD from 5am but luckily I had a white noise machine.) Unfortunately, shortly after returning home, both my mother and I (in our separate homes) began experiencing clusters of bites. A canine inspection confirmed bedbugs, traced directly to the suitcase I used for our trip. Neither home had a prior history of bedbugs, and no other recent travel could account for this. Treatment for both homes has totaled over $5,000, in addition to missed work and childcare disruptions. I reached out to the hotel directly with documentation and gave them ample opportunity to resolve this as a goodwill gesture. While their replies were courteous, they denied any responsibility, citing no other reports from the room. I understand bedbugs can happen anywhere, even in excellent hotels, and I approached the hotel in good faith. What’s most disappointing is not the initial problem, but the lack of meaningful support afterward. For a stay that cost over $1,800, I expected the hotel to take stronger ownership of guest wellbeing. Travelers should be aware that while the hotel offers a beautiful experience, there are risks, and should consider this when making lodging decisions.

Beautiful hotel in a prime location adjacent to the square in downtown Healdsburg. Every member of the hotel staff from the front desk to the bartender and wait staff we’re all so friendly and helpful. The pool area was beautiful and also had friendly and attentive waitstaff. Definitely recommend this hotel.

"Champagne prices"

6.0

Hotel Healdsburg is a perfectly nice hotel — but at $700 a night, “nice” doesn’t cut it. Let’s be honest: this is not the Four Seasons, though it certainly charges like it is. The so‑called “extras” are laughable. A few free snacks and a bare‑bones turndown service? That’s the level of thoughtfulness you’d expect at a midrange boutique, not something commanding luxury resort prices. These gestures might be worth $25, maybe $50 on a generous day — nowhere near the premium they’re asking. What makes things worse is the guest‑unfriendly policy. A seven‑day cancellation requirement at this rate point is preposterous. True luxury properties understand flexibility is part of the service. Here, it feels more like a money grab than hospitality. In the end, Hotel Healdsburg is charging champagne prices while delivering sparkling water service. At $700 a night, you should expect more than “nice” — you should expect exceptional. And exceptional is exactly what this hotel is not.

"Brief but blissful stay"

10.0

Beautiful setting, building, bar area, and room. We stayed the night and unfortunately the Dry Creek Kitchen was closed so we did not dine. The room was quiet, clean, and very comfortably and tastefully appointed. It was our anniversary and the staff ackowledged us genuinely and there was a complimentary bottle of bubbly in the room (much appreciated).
