Room smelled humid like it hadn’t been opened in a while. We had one of the first rooms to the lobby. The attendant tried telling me we had no reservation and since we didn’t check in at 3 pm we forfeited our reservation. After arguing he magically found our reservation.

The breakfast was very appreciated and plentiful. Thank you!

Security was excellent

I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites in Georgetown, DE, and unfortunately, my experience was anything but “quality.” I chose this hotel because it was dog-friendly, and while the check-in staff was pleasant, that was about the only positive. The room was advertised online at $92, but when I arrived in person, they tried to charge me $174. After I questioned the price, the clerk applied a AAA discount and brought it down to $150.01. I would’ve booked online, but since there were no refunds offered, I wanted to confirm in person that I was getting a dog-friendly room first. When we walked into the room, we were immediately hit with an overwhelming scent of men’s cologne. I assumed it was an attempt to mask a pet odor and tried to give it some grace. But the room itself was disappointing—beat-up furniture, four small pillows, one thin coverlet, and towels that barely qualified as bath-sized. The entire carpet was soaking wet, which made the room feel damp and uncomfortable. Walking on it barefoot was gross, but we were exhausted from traveling and decided to tough it out. While adjusting the air conditioning, my husband found two air fresheners hidden inside the unit—explaining the overpowering cologne smell. Unfortunately, it triggered his allergies so badly that he had to take medication and use his inhaler. Just when we managed to fall asleep, a loud party started in the room above us at 1:30 a.m. It lasted over two hours. Between the damp room, the strong scent, poor air quality, and the noise, we finally gave up and checked out at 3:00 a.m. We let the front desk know, and while the staff was apologetic, they brushed it off as “not their department.” We were too tired and frustrated to argue. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. I wouldn’t want someone else to go through what we did. Save yourself the trouble—find somewhere else to stay.
