Amazing experience, I loved that the property had an ocean view, also the restaurant on the property Doolittles had great food, thumps up to the chefs, totally enjoyed the live music aswell, excellent staff. A free ferry is provided to take you to and from the hotel,so you can also explore some local eatery aswell, and get some local shopping done.

"They don't care about you or their paradise setting"

2.0

This hotel is a H&S hazard waiting to happen. Set on the side of the hill, most apartments are a noticeable walk up hill, with the Firefly Studios several floors up. We stayed in 2 different rooms and also experience 2 more rooms on the final day to change. Every room had maintenance issues. From the broken hand railings over the steep edge to see the sunset!, to broken showers 3/4, leaking toilets 2/4 culminating in my husbands electrical shock from the bedside lamp - the hotel changed the lamp but did not seem to care. And I think the is the word I would use no-one at Marigot Beach Club and Dive resort cares. The staff disinterested, never once said good morning on one of our 14 visits to breakfast or 4 to dinner, there simply is NO service. The food 9 generally in Marigot) is over priced, and mostly tasteless, boring for vegetarians with dull curries, potato filled Roti's and pasta your only choice. Plus we chose this hotel for its on site dive center which is closed. The private beach of which there are two small strips. one to the left of the hotel with 6 pairs of broken sunbeds is swapped with day trippers from the cruises (which I think is their focus as its extra income). The main beach to the right even worse chairs, ripped off for privacy? but used by local kids and hounded by the beach sellers (which were aggressive / rude) - only Noel the local fruit seller was fun to talk to. It promises so much from the photos, the bay, the clear waters, the hotel, etc and fails to deliver through lack of care, love and attention. And when you have choice you cant afford to not offer high standard (or frankly even basic) SERVICE !

"Poor service in a H&S hazard"

2.0

The property is very tired, poorly maintained and in need of an upgrade, shower didn't work (3 out of 4 rooms we used!) toilet leaked (2 room) - culminating in my husband getting an electrical shock of the bedside lamp - hotel not bothered changed lights and he had to insist to fill and incident form. Dont get me wrong it's an amazing bay, but more 3* than 4 or 5 it deserves because they are still struggling post covid. No shops in the bay and $40 taxi to get just 10 mins up the hill to shops! Only 2 restaurants (Chateau Mygo and JJ Mangrove) of the 5 we had access to gave good service or good food for the evening meals Marigot Beach Club staff never once said good morning, continental breakfast at 8 is a joke - staff arrive at 8am and put out bread fruit and cakes - you get 2 eggs but have to pay for tomato in your omelette!?!?! Beautiful bay, we wanted to dive and the Marigot dive centre is closed - wonder whether Soufriers or north past Castries would be better service and then day visit this bay - very sad :(

"The restaurant ‘Doolittle’s’ lives up to the name as the staff precisely do little."

5.0

The location is this hotels only saving grace.

The hotel is in dire need of some investment. It looks like it was the place to be in the 80s and hasn’t moved on since. The restaurant ‘Doolittle’s’ lives up to the name as the staff precisely do little. The breakfast buffet is a couple of rolls of cheap ham and cheese of which they’d already run out of by 8.30am. I’d expect more for the price of the room.

"We can’t wait to return to this paradise!"

10.0

We had the pleasure of staying at Marigot Beach Club & Dive Resort for just four days, and it was truly one of the most extraordinary places we visited in the entire Caribbean. The resort’s facilities are absolutely stunning, and the staff’s warmth and hospitality made our experience unforgettable. Dining at Doolittle’s Restaurant was a delight, with every meal proving to be consistently excellent and delicious. A heartfelt thank you to David for his attentive eye for the service and engaging conversation, Danizia for her impeccable service during dinner, Glen at the bar for his hospitality, and Tonia for her wonderful service at lunchtime. We also greatly appreciated the professionalism and friendly demeanor of the reception team, including Kiana, Tarrik, and Quawanna, who all paid incredible attention to detail. A special thank you as well to Shannon from the garden—his kindness and dedication left a lasting impression as he took the time to show us around the beautiful grounds. We truly appreciate all his hard work in keeping the gardens stunning.

This property is run down ; has spotty internet; our Rose Cottage room with plunge pool was in disrepair. It leaked when it rained; the pool filter was not working; the electricity in the kitchen was spotty; you need to be in good shape to get to and from your room up the side of the steep hill; the staff does not help with luggage. Not the experience one would expect at this price. The food was average at best. The view however is spectacular. We moved to a VRBO across the way and it is top notch.

"Awful customer service; overpriced; deceiving online pictures"

2.0

Awful. Where do I start? We stayed here for 11 nights. We were greeted without any information about what our ‘resort fee’ included. Housekeeping is every 2 days and wasn’t too bad. Shower was cold mostly every day. Internet was not fast and was intermittent in the room. The worst part about the resort was the service at the bar/restaurant. Staff are unhappy and don’t want to work there - and it shows. It was incredibly disorganised - staff were not delegates properly. We waited at the bar for 20 minutes sometimes without a hello and had to ask staff what we wanted by saying excuse me every time - no priority for guests and left us feeling unimportant and like we were inconveniencing them! Service charge is added to everything. It IS optional, so I would advise not paying it if you’re unhappy with the service. Staff are searched after work to check they haven’t stolen anything and are charged out of their own pockets if guests don’t pay their bill. Our friend broke a hip and the staff at the front desk would not allow an international phone call because it would cost the resort money. There are so many flies in and around the bar and washing and cleaning are not prioritised. Many unhappy guests at the resort and complaints either ignored or frowned upon, with no problem-solving applied. Service is incredibly slow all the time. Breakfast is included in the price but is not good. I could go on but I don’t think I need to. The resort needs a huge renovation and staff training needs to be up to standard - the staff need to feel inspired by their leaders - not afraid or deflated.

"Hippy Hostel"

4.0

Put here by our company on a one-night stop having flown in from UK via The Azores. The adventure to the hotel began with a forty minute transfer from the airport along the rustic roads of St Lucia. It’s more exciting on the way back because you are nearer to the cliff edge. Anyway, our driver eventually came to a halt beside a jetty and beckoned us out of the vehicle. “Oh, is it just round the corner?” I asked. “No, you wait for the ferry”. “You’re joking” “No”. We were knackered having flown across the Atlantic and now we were sitting on our luggage in our pilot costumes with a bunch of backpackers and our increasingly agitated princess flight attendant who got straight on the phone to operations and started tearing them a new one: “No, I’m not alright. We’re on a dock with no ferry in sight …. Oh my God it’s just arrived. You can not be serious”. And indeed here it was … more of a raft than a ferry, sitting very low in the water and looking remarkably unstable and unseaworthy. We pushed past the hippies and clambered gingerly on board, the skiff rocking menacingly as we did so. The boatman became increasingly animated as the hippies began to join us and his craft started taking on water. It was farcical as we all moved around the boat in a mad game to balance out the boat. I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. The princess was less amused and pressed speed dial again to have a further rant at Ops who, rather rashly – this being Christmas Eve - promised to send a bigger boat in the morning. We untied from the dock and putted slowly across the bay. To be fair, the hotel looked moderately alluring perched on the far side of the water, a series of low buildings rising up the hill. However, -much like Weston Super-Mare or Blackpool, it’s best viewed from a distance. Check in went well enough and I was able to crow to Cap’n Steve and the Princess about my room upgrade. However the bragging rights of this were to be short lived. As we departed to find our accommodation the heavens opened and the chipped tile steps up the hill became a veritable “slip and slide”. My two colleagues had to endure this for a further five minutes as their lodgings were further up the hill. Only somewhat drenched, I opened the door to my superior suite to be greeted by a primitive kitchenette opening up onto a room sumptuously adorned with a wide variety of knackered furniture and, off it, a bathroom with chipped sink and urine stained toilet. On the plus side there was a nice four poster bed and the terrace offered spectacular views across the bay. However, I thought, if this is a superior room God knows what the basic is like: the princess is not going to be happy! Indeed she was not. It appeared that “standard class” did not include running water (a feature of several other reviews I note). It took an hour for the hotel to summon maintenance and pronounce they couldn’t fix it. After 15 hours on her feet it was unsurprising that a shower would have been welcomed. We drowned our sorrows with champagne in the hotel bar and amused ourselves by making fun of the pissed hippies with whom we left the remnants of our bottle. Having retired to bed. I was awoken an hour later by the receptionist banging on my door demanding that I settle the bill for our (very underwhelming) dinner. This surprised me as I thought they had our card on file but hey ho… I was informed in no uncertain terms that I was wrong. She kindly left me waiting in my sleeping shorts whilst she stomped off to get a card machine. After the Gestapo had finally left I actually slept very well in my four poster and in the morning spent a pleasant half hour sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. We got the death ferry back to the other side of the bay (it was more pleasant in the daylight and without the swampy types on board) and our taxi driver kindly waited whilst we obtained decent coffee from the adjacent hotel. This turned out to be the one that the other airlines use … it was magnificent and we have implored our company to book this next time!! In summary: a great hotel for people who don’t mind rough and ready facilities. I reckon if you smoke pot and drink copious quantities of booze (which our fellow travellers appeared to be doing) the hotel might be a fine choice. However we will not be rushing to come back. The Princess was spitting bricks in our car on the way back to the airport and it took until Miami for her to calm down!
