Hotel Excelsior

Stayed total of 4 nights 2 nights then another 2 nights Cons: pool was closed, under repairs One elevator closed for repairs, Casino was shut down. Cleaning just use a mop and water to mop leaves the room smelly, at least add bleach, Hotel n room were old and in need of repairs lobby had major water leak in roof, so they had a 20 gallon trash can catching the water in the lobby, The room although large had horrible views and the a/c was loud. Breakfast was so so depending on who is waiting your table, it will be how much breafast you will get... If your adventurous you can easily walk during daytime to the main central park, shopping, food court, market and the Catheral is about 6 blks away. I was charged 2 nights at 45 dls a night told there where no rooms for friday so l had to check out go to another hotel and come back for the other 2 nights and then was charged 60 dls per night the last 2 nights so make sure uu confirm price before agreeing to stay more nights. Pro's beautiful mural in fromt of pool area, Good beer selection at bar Great front desk help especially ANA :-)

I booked the executive suite for a 4 days stay - After checked in I noticed the suite wasn't cleaned - the furnitures were damaged. I notified concierge then a housekeeper was sent to clean the suite - she didn't change the sheets - the hotel offered us no apology. The restaurant staffs weren't friendly at all, however, the food was delicious, unfortunately, it wasn't enough to kept me there. I checked out the following day.

This is an old hotel in the close to "el mercado", 20 years ago it was probably considered a classy hotel but today the only words to describe it are "not for the faint of heart". The area is extremely dangerous at nite and there is nothing within sight of the hotel that would be considered as edible to the north american or even to civilized south american tastes. The rooms were clean but the furniture and bed were very old and the smell from the river running behind the hotel made the evenings unbearable. The bathrooms are from the stone age and the "hot" water, when there was water pressure, would not be considered as "warm" water by anyone with a water heater in their home. To sum up, for $20 to $30 more a nite you can find many other hotels in Tegucigalpa that are in better looking and safer areas. The staff were kind but lacked any formal hotel training and most seemed as if they were hired because no one else wanted their job. Would I recommend this hotel to a friend? I wouldn´t recommened it to a friend or an enemy because some enemies become friends and I wouldn´t wish a stay in this place on anyone.

Enjoyed visiting tito aguacate with my brother. Tito aguacate is a bar in downtown tegucigalpa, and one of the most famous drink call calambre, mix of rum and othe secret ingredients, good alcohol drink.also enjoyed visiting with family.not a casino.

Although the hotel has a good location, it is a bit rundown. The breakfast is very basic and there are not too many choices, what is serve is was you get. Definitely I will not use this hotel again.

I decided to stay at the hotel for the casino and not leave the hotel on my business trip, but the casino is closed for remodeling. Walked out and no found a good places to eat around. The area is very dark, with the possibility of being dangerous. The Hotel caged animals in danger of extinction. (parrots and toucans)

We were told we would have a 3:30 AM wake up call and a taxi waiting for us at 4:00 AM. Fortunately for us I set the alarm and had staff call cab because they forgot.
