Royal Palms Hotel

The hotel is in a beautiful old house. It is in a quiet area but only a short walk from good bars and restaurants. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had every comfort.

This is an old school hotel. Reminds me of a B&B. The room was pleasant but rather small. I found the a/c not responsive. The restaurant, Ascots, was excellent. Service was very good, including the housekeeping. The continental breakfast was adequate. My biggest complaint is that the pool was more ornamental than functional. I never used it.

Requested room with King bed (booked through Booking.com) was unavailable as the hotel told me they were not able to receive special requests through 3rd party websites. Only option provided by hotel manager was to pay for an upgrade which was declined.

Great place, outside gardens, peaceful and friendly staff. Good stay. Short Walk to downtown Hamilton and ferries and central bus station.

There was a good selection of dishes for breakfast including one cooked.

For breakfast, a wider selection of jams plus honey would be nice.

Lovely small property and gardens. Quiet comfortable rooms. Pleasant 10 minute walk to Front Street.

Included breakfast was no better than a typical Marriott Courtyard or Comfort Inn. Cold cereal, yogurt, some lackluster fruit, toast-your-own breads and not very fresh pastries and of course the make-your-own waffles machine. Ascots restaurant was sub-par even at $75 a person.
