Homewood Suites by Hilton - Oakland Waterfront

The staff in general and the breakfast were excellent, so I don't like leaving an otherwise negative review....BUT

There is not adequate parking. The building screams for renovation. Furniture was broken, elevator was in poor shape, and I didn't feel safe outside, especially when I had to park on a busy street a block away.

Waterfront view was amazing and easy access to the freeway!

Staff excellent. Clean and tidy. A little dated.

Breakfast was average.

Apparently they have two separate buildings one being old and the other building is newer and bright. I stayed in the new building last time. This older building I got the feeling they prefer one night stay which I was a one nighter this time.

Nice walking areas with benches behind the place which had some good waterfront views. Easy access to freeway. Breakfast had some good variety.

Parking was not adequate - hard to find a spot near building. A lot of trash around (cig butts, etc). Noisy highway across street. Did not feel safe parking car there - as smash and grabs are common, one occurring right next to my car the first night. Hotel on the edge of a very run down area. No nearby food.
