Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel

The breakfast was very poor. They limited us to one pastry, fruit and juice, but there were limitations too. We couldn't get the juice we wanted. The price with breakfast is much more expensive and not worth it at all with this choice.

Orlando tried to make up for the deficiencies.

No food or bar on site. Rely on Uber Eats etc. Ice machine doest work on several floors. Tir3d feel and broken fittings.

This hotel does not even deserve one star, and I am not sure how it continues to carry the Marriott flag. The property is completely run down, and the cleanliness standards are unacceptable. In the first room, the bathroom toilet had severe stains. After requesting a room change, I found large brown stains on the bed sheets in the second room. After seeing two rooms in this condition, I wanted to leave immediately. I checked out and booked myself into a different hotel. The front desk manager who seemed quite used to these reactions stated that my stay would be refunded. However, it has now been over a month, and despite two follow-up communications in which the hotel apologized for my experience, the refund has still not been processed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

No restaurant and poor use of facility

A sadly aging hotel with no restaurant or bar, the "lounge" for Bonvoy elite is a joke. The AC in some guest rooms are not working and the staff response is, "oh sorry" and did you need a printed receipt for your stay? The guest rooms need all sorts of other repairs too but really its the whole place top to bottom.

Absolutely one of the worst Renaissance Marriott stays we have ever encountered. My spouse is Lifetime Titanium and has collectively stayed over three years of his life in Marriott properties, with high expectations of Renaissance stays. Marriott management should be looking very closely at what this brand means to its company. This was abysmal. Please see photos of carpet and interior of room of what was considered an "upgrade." And the bizarre frosting on the cake was no room service but you could buy a Swanson's frozen chicken pot pie to microwave. Wow! Please heed this advice and find another stay. This should not represent anything on the Marriott brand.
