Great location. Comfortable and clean.

I had a very good stay, everything was clean and taken care of very well. I definitely would stay here again :) I think Yari and Silese did a great job at making me feel welcomed and keeping the room clean.

Nice and quiet area hotel staff are very friendly nice and helpful especially Beverly at front desk Housekeeper Nick did a great job keeping our room clean and replacing clean towels Silese at front desk was helpful too

Beware of the place. They advertise on there web page one price then add on $19.99 for parking, $36.00 per person to clean the room , tax on each item and a resort fee. The lobby floor needs repair as they have large cracks in the vinyl floor, the biscuits were as hard as hockey pucks, I found blood on the pillow without a pillowcase, they did replace it. The hallway is cluttered with wood cabinets. I will not be staying there anymore. What a scam they have going on. They even charged my credit card twice. I will be contacting my bank.

A comfortable atmosphere, excellent service, very clean and organized rooms, and the best thing is the private beach, thanks to all staff

All staff was extremely inviting and very nice . The bed was super comfortable I slept like a baby.my cell didn’t have much service so the WiFi definitely came in handy already planning a couples trip with my friends for next year in July .

Stayed Aug 2025. Positives: Walking distance to nice, private beach and friendly staff (Nick,Beverley,Celeste, Yari and Julian). Critiques: Overpriced for what they offer. Mediocre Breakfast, infused water that tasted funny - container needs cleaning. Beach loungers and umbrellas provided for an additional cost. $8 bottle of water in room lol. Thin walls, I could hear neighbor's tv. Additional fees tagged on after check in. In hindsight, if not for the positive reviews I would have booked somewhere nicer for the same price or less. Guests are offered parking discount in return for positive review, so not all reviews are objective. Will not recommend. Read through positive and negative reviews for balanced picture and manage your expectations.

Tip: Bring a copy of printed your receipt (from Expedia) with you, they will charge a different amount than what's stated in your expedia.com invoice. They will refuse to respect that original price you agreed to pay on expedia.com. This hotel listing is extremely inaccurate. For reference listing states: "Pilates, fitness and yoga classes" There were no such classes. "Waterfront, on private beach" It's not waterfront, it's across the street from the beach. The beach is not private, anyone walking by can go. "In a nature preserve" There is no nature preserve. It's surrounded by beautiful land that it hasn't been built on, not a nature preserve. "Spa open daily, steam room" Doesn't exist. "At least 80% of food locally-sourced" "At least 80% organic food" It was regular, Costco bought food, not 1 item was organic, nothing stated it was locally-source. "Banquet Hall" Doesn't exist. "Comprehensive recycling policy" Doesn't exist. They do not recycle. All trash went into s regular trash can. "Reusable cups" They only had single use cups, plastic ware, single use plates. "No plastic bottles" Every single guest was given plastic bottles, employees passed them out at the reception desk. "Living plant wall" There are plastic plants everywhere, all over the hotel.

This “boutique inn” is far from its description on the website! Do not be fooled into booking! Super small, fine print is inaccurate and owner is a jerk!! I made a reservation for a week, booked through my credit card via Citi Travel, paying in full besides the $89.99 “service fee” noted on the website. When we get there to check in, the hotel lobby is smaller than the size of a standard hotel room and that is where their evening “reception” and breakfast is held. The lady at the desk told me she needed my credit card for the service fee that was $119 PER NIGHT, stating I owed an additional $1000 in fees! I was appalled as I’d already paid almost $2000 for the week. I had to email the info from my booking site to show it was $89.99 TOTAL for the owner to approve changing the fee. The desk clerk asked for my card again and said the charges totaled over $500. We did need a rollaway at $35/night but even with the $89.99 that “math” ain’t mathing, even accounting for tax. There was no river in sight for the “river view” room we booked. The hallways appeared to be death traps as 2 people could not stand side by side to pass. I don’t know how they passed fire inspection! The pool was the size of a standard pool someone would have behind their house and was run down. Yes, it is across the street from the beach. That’s the one and only good thing. After such disappointment, I went to their regular website, not the one associated with my credit card that I booked through, and in reading the reviews it appears the CROOKED owner was inducing positive reviews by dropping parking charges if they made one! We did not end up staying and went to the Guy Harvey Resort down the road a few miles that had a restaurant, FREE parking, a decent size pool, and was located beachside for half the price! Don't waste your money booking at Ocean Sands, unless you want to pay for poor service and have extra charges!!
