"Great customer service"

10.0

We stayed here while visiting the area on a weekend away and received excelent customer service from Royston, Francheska and the manager. Will definitely stay again next time we’re visiting. Food was tasty and breakfast better than other travelodges we have stayed.

"Pleasantly surprised, going to be a lovely addition to Travelodge brand"

8.0

Was worried after reading other reviews. The hotel is undergoing renovation - written on the website and reception staff apologise in advance for building work, which starts as early as 8am. There's no lift so be prepared to carry luggage up stairs - BUT I was on the top floor, with a suitcase & was fine. My opinion is that the price reduction is well worth it! Paid half what other hotels were charging for the same date. My room (308) was renovated, spotless and the TV bigger than expected. The view at night was beautiful. The room was warm when I arrived (end of Nov) and Bathroom had a nice bath/shower. attached photos which hopefully provides reassurance because I was really pleased!

"Worst travelodge ever"

2.0

I've stayed in many Travelodges and this was the worst. Its under renovation - in practice that means its like staying on a building site. We were woken before 8am by drilling so loud the walls vibrated. Water was cut off completely for some time with no sink or shower. Had to walk outside to speak to reception and the best they could do was fill a pint glass with water for me so I could brush my teeth. Fire alarm set off several times in short bursts by the building works. Bar/cafe was not open, despite the booking page advertising it in 4 different places, and they didnt even offer the breakfast box like they do in most travelodges with no cafe. None of this was effectively communicated to us before we arrived. When we complained about the lack of sleep, shower, and breakfast the staff just looked sad that they couldn't do anything about it. They were very nice but looked exhausted - they must have been hearing complaints all day, and I guess theres not much they can do about the fact that Travelodge as a company thinks its acceptable to book people into rooms on a half-built hotel.

"Weekend Stay"

4.0

Refurbishment work means that the hotel is unfinished and should really be closed while this is underway. No breakfast room due to the work and the reception room was a mess with furniture piled up. No issue with the contractors doing the work who were all polite. The floors are thin so you can hear noises from above, in my case at the middle of the night...

"Returns to hotel with our personal belongings in bin bags, on reception floor with our room now given to someone else."

2.0

Returns back to hotel at night, key card doesn't work, inform reception about this to find mine and my partner's belongings in bin bags, laying on the floor at reception. Apparently while we were out, they wanted to give our room to someone else... As you do. So decided just throw our stuff out without any attempts to contact me about it. Following that, we then got told that they MIGHT have a new room to move us into... Might, but no guarantees. They had to check the building at 1am to hunt for a vacant room for us. We've stayed in a lot of hotels, a lot of Travelodges, but have never experienced coming back late at night to having no room to stay in. Before all this hassle at night, rewind to the same morning staying here. A cleaner barged their way into our room at about 10:30am, no knock on the door or anything. No apology. We took it with a grain of salt. Must have gotten confused with a different room or something. Upon leaving the room about 30 minutes later we noticed our door key wasn't working (I forgot something and wanted to get back into the room to grab it). So down to reception... Now I mention this part of the day simply because, at this time of sorting out the key card, us staying in that room way fine. Reissued it, no problem, nothing hinted we'll be kicked out of it later (with 3 more sleeps left in the place). Pretty sure we were talking to the manager as well, so surely they would have known if there were any issues/double bookings or anything. Oh, and to top it all off. When they emptied our room into bin bags, they either stole or threw some of our belongings out too. I asked if there was any way of getting some sort of refund, even if it was just a part refund, and they straight up denied it with the simple, sticking to the books, "Sorry for the inconvenience" and nothing more. When leaving reception with now a new room, another person walked through the door, also stating that their key card wasn't working. Didn't stick around long enough to nosy into the problem, but hoping for that poor person that it wasn't the same problem we just faced. I would strongly suggest avoiding this hotel. The rooms aren't terrible. Very standard for a Travelodge. It's about 20-30 walk to most central things of Manchester, which isn't too bad. But simply for the risk of the above problem, it's not worth it.

"Atrocious. Possessions removed from room and put into bin bags."

2.0

My friends stayed here and their belongings were taken out of their room and put into bin bags. The hotel decided to relocate them after key card issue and their solution was to take all their stuff out the room (when they weren't there), put it into bin bags in the reception and just leave them there. All without even contacting them. One of their drinks went missing, presumably thrown away. I've never in my life heard of such absolutely atrocious treatment, let alone from an apparent legitimate company like Travelodge. Apparently they are even yet to get a refund! If you value your possessions or quality of stay, or even just basic human dignity, don't stay here.

"Try another manchester travelodge"

2.0

Started off rudely being told we cannot check in until 3 unless we pay a fee of 15 pounds we arrived at half 2.now at any other travelodge I have stayed at theu let you check in for free ater 2pm. So we sit in the bar and ordered around of expensive drinks from a staff member who looked like it was far to much effort. Then 3pm come we are told we can check in so we go to do it and are told sorry the rooms aren't available yet no member off staff apologised we eventually got checked in at 3.15. When we go to our room we see that they are renovating the hotel at no point did anyone inform us of that even when we booked. My room had a dirty pillow and a damp patch on the sheet that smelt like bleach. The following morning we where woken up at 7.45 by power tools and banging very disappointed

"this hotel is under construction"

2.0

This hotel is currently under construction. In my opinion it should not allow guests to stay during this time, unless everyone is ok with being woken up to drilling sounds. We did not complain while there as there was a sign at reception stating there’s construction going on, plus staff were lovely. Besides from that though, our toilet didn’t work properly and we felt we stayed on a building site. I advise not to stay here until there building work is done

"Great check in experience"

10.0

I arrived later on in the evening at around 10pm, and I was greeted by the wonderful Steph. She checked me in quickly and efficiently, and even had a lovely smile, which is rare to find, especially after a full day!! The hotel is currently going through a refurb, however, my room was clean and comfortable with everything I needed.
