Kingston Plantation Condos

I all enjoy staying at Kingston. The facility is pleasant, great access to the beach and not far from restaurants and the outlets.

The hotel was nice. The room was ok but not what we were expecting and not worth the price.

We initially paid $373 for 3 nights, but upon arrival were hit with an unexpected additional ~$300 in fees (parking, resort fees, incidentals, etc.). This nearly doubled the cost of our stay, and none of this was clearly communicated during booking. That level of additional cost should be made very obvious upfront so guests can make an informed decision. The booking process itself was also extremely confusing. The listing showed multiple room types, photos, and reviews all mixed together, and it was unclear which unit we were actually reserving. Based on the listing, I believed we were booking a condo with a kitchen, as we were planning to bring and cook our own food. Instead, we were given a basic hotel room with only a microwave. This completely changed our plans and forced us to eat out for every meal, adding even more unexpected expense. There was also a serious safety concern. Our room had a connecting door to another unit that appeared to be under renovation, and that door was never locked. At one point we returned to find lights on in the adjoining space, meaning someone had been in there with direct access to our room. As a parent traveling with children, this felt very unsafe and unacceptable. On top of that, basic amenities and service were lacking. We had to request essentials like toilet paper and trash removal from the front desk, there were no extras in the room, and even getting Wi-Fi access was an issue as our room wasn’t properly set up in their system. There was also no clear point of contact like you typically have with condo rentals. To be fair, staff did offer a complimentary breakfast after we raised concerns, which we appreciated—but it didn’t make up for the overall experience. Between the hidden costs, misleading listing, safety concerns, and lack of basic service, this stay did not meet expectations at all.
