The Scottsdale Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton

Location was very good. Madames had a delightful decor and ambience, with very friendly staff on both nights that we visited there.

Long walks to our rooms and carpet smelled overly strong with freshener. Half used bottles of water and drinks were in the room when we arrived. Security latch did not work.

Beautiful property, gorgeous landscaping and decor, very relaxing. Big focus on little details. Beds were comfy. Robes and slippers in rooms.

There is no hot tub.

The grounds are gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The location is great for day trips to good hiking spots and museums, phoenix, etc. was surprised by the early check in fee - 50$ - and by the breakfast fee (rooms “with” breakfast actually only come with 20$ a person at their restaurant — very tough when every entree is 20$, so it’s not really a “full” breakfast.) Breakfast is tasty and well presented, Logan the waiter is great! Most of my poached eggs were overcooked. The dining room was extremely disorganized. Walking in every morning, it felt like it was their first day. Most of the drinks and food can be ordered at the coffee store next door (and they give you a full coffee drink for the same price while the dining room doesn’t always if they arrive in the coffee mugs. Coffee shop doesn’t have a great selection of snacks - all candy and gourmet popcorn no one touches. We bought a kind protein bar and it was months-stale. Burrito from there was ice cold in the center. Lots of tiny things like that. As for activities and spa - there is no central app or activities list. The pamphlet at the front desk lists activities and tells you to register online; the online portal doesn’t have any activities other than one (Pilates). When I asked about how to register for the activities listed on the pamphlet, I was told to call the spa. No one told me where I could register, just that I needed to call. I went in person to the spa and they told me their activities don’t need registration and I can just show up. That feels like something the front desk should know and have printed on their activity pamphlets. Spa is nice but amenities are tiny and every day the spa is full of locals who book amenities passes. Hot stones are a FORTY dollar upcharge by the way. They will tell you it’s “a bit extra” but if you’re doing a $200 massage etc, that’s a bit. My massage was not great for the last 20 minutes (of 80) and the front desk took 10% off, which was nice. Self parking is easy and 25$ a day. No problems with that. Rooms are very far away from the lobby and you will walk quite a bit. I saw some older folks struggling a bit with that. There are no microwaves available (as far as I saw - I didn’t ask. There could be). Rooms are the best part of this hotel after the grounds. Clean, updated, and the layout is perfect. TVs are huge but not very “smart” - the apps are limited so we could only watch Netflix or YouTube, not Hulu or prime etc. not a huge deal but would be nice to see updated TVs in the next few years. Pool was nice and warm, very clean. Smaller than they make it look online, but the kids loved it. Gym is AMAZING - modern, clean, stylish. The only thing missing would be some rubber bands for stretching. But truly a 10/10 facility. The cold towels and cold bottles of water were a great touch. This wasn’t a BAD resort by any means, and we did enjoy our stay, but there are some obvious growing pains as they transition to a Hilton property. But I wouldn’t go back until they’re a little further along to be quite honest. The staff were lovely - Garrett at the front desk especially, and Logan — and the housekeeping service was quick, friendly, and efficient. But the management / organization needs work. Especially in giving out information in an easy and accessible way for guests. The website is not very good and doesn’t say much of anything at all. I was surprised they didn’t have us download the Hilton honors app and use that. No mention of that anywhere. TL;DR: if you’re golfing and out of the hotel all day, this is a great spot. If you’re planning on staying, be aware of growing pains.

Leon was great and the food was delicious!

Currently staying here and we are canceling the remainder of our stay. The noise level is unacceptable. We can clearly hear every conversation and movement from the room next to us, which makes it nearly impossible to relax or sleep. The pool area was okay, nothing special, and the overall experience does not match the price point. For what you pay, you expect comfort and quality, and this fell short. Definitely not worth the cost.

Not my favorite place. It was OK. Unfortunately for them we had stayed at the Boulders and The Ritz @ Dove Mountain before coming here. Maybe if we hadn't done that, they would get more stars. Staff was always very friendly! Food was always good. Weird hole in bathroom wall (see pic), spa was sub-par (see pics, broken equipment and noisy repair people working on equipment (not what you want in a spa environment), rotten fruit in food offering, massage therapist told me several times there would be an uncharge if I wanted deeper massage. Told me, told me again, and then 10 minutes into massage asked how the pressure was and reminded me there would be an upcharge if she changed the pressure! ??? Why ask?) They cheaped out in many respects....two bottles of water means just only two bottles of water, other places gave two bottles + every day, housekeeping didn't leave kleenexes when they emptied, didn't leave coffee amenities when empty, forgot to clean the room the first day, pool bar was only opened on weekend and that meant not even fresh ice water when they weren't open. I got 4 portfolio billings after leaving and still had to call to get our breakfast credits applied that I had paid for!? Assuming they were hoping I wouldn't notice. It was just OK and overpriced for what we got.

This hotel was perfect for our “golf buddies” trip. The property was beautiful and conveniently located. Our rooms were clean with comfortable beds. But what made the trip even better was the personal service we received from Front Desk host, Brinton. She could not have been more helpful. Was professional, kind and very attentive.

I had such a lovely staycation here during a wellness weekend. The resort felt calm, welcoming, and truly relaxing from the moment I arrived. The wellness activities were thoughtfully done, the grounds were peaceful, and the staff was warm and attentive. I left feeling refreshed and recharged—such a perfect Scottsdale escape.
