Quiet environment, good quality of service. Comfortable mattress. 5 min walk from subway station.

Way too far away from the center of Kyoto. Most importantly it was WAY too expensive for what I got. I stayed in downtown Kyoto for less than a third the price and had a more pleasant staff, an equally clean and comfortable room, and much more convenient access to the sights of Kyoto. There's NO way this hotel was worth over $300 USD per night!

Away from the center of Kyoto, the hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful woodsy area where you can enjoy leisurely walks in the neighborhood and adjacent Takaragaike Park. The access to Metro station is very easy and it is only a 10-15 minute ride to the city. We stayed there for seven days and enjoyed coming back to the hotel after long days in the city.

We booked an airconditioned room (is there another kind?) at this supposedly "best and most expensive hotel" in the area. So disappointed. Terrible service, dirty carpets, dated décor. THE TEMPERATURE OF THE ROOM WAS SET AT 25 C AND THEY REFUSED TO PUT ON THE AIRCONDITIONINING. ON TOP OF THAT THEY LIED. THEY SAID THAT THROUGHOUT JAPAN THERE WAS NO AIRCONDITIONING AVAILABLE IN HOTELS. WE SUBSEQUENTLY WENT TO TOKYO WHERE WE HAD AN AIRCONDITIONED ROOM. THEY SUGGESTED WE OPEN THE WINDOWS INSTEAD. I HAVE TRAVELED THE WORLD AND NEVER CONFRONTED THIS SITUATION. HOTEL TRYING TO SAVE MONEY ON OUR DIME.

The hotel is located at the northern end of Kyoto so it is a 20 minute subway ride to get there. The foyer is full of very old and tatty furniture, the staff who are working with a international convention centre next door barely speak or understand English, the rooms are decorated with wallpaper that is peeling off and very badly in need of refurbishment. There are four restaurants in this place not one of which is worth the effort. The breakfast is buffet style which will cost you 5200 yen for two people and is not very good or even hot. The bar opens every night at 8pm and closes at 11.30pm it is cosy but very expensive by Japanese standards. If you want to enjoy Kyoto night life this is not the place to stay. Overall I would rate this hotel as a 2.5 not worth the expense or your time.

Wish we had known in advance of the Prince Hotel's free baggage transfer service to and from the Kyoto Rail station . A Hotel kiosk desk is located in the Kyoto station.Hotel rates were reasonable . Taxi fare from Kyoto rail station $35 AUD.

Very enjoyable, great food, facilities and staff, located adjacent to large parkland and lake. Close to subway with quick access to everything.

One of the biggest rooms I have had in Japan. Very comfortable and clean. The location was beautiful but it was fairly far from downtown but easily accessible from the subway- last stop on the line. Extremely convenient to the international conference center.

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Kyoto. It was a few Metro stops out of the city but it didnt take long and was really easy to access from the Metro station. The room was huge and beds very comfortable. We were greeted by friendly staff who took us to our room and made to feel very welcome. The area around the hotel is quite nice, it is very close to a big park with a lake which is nice to stroll around in the evening. It was a welcoming bit of peace and quiet in the midst of a very busy exploring holiday.
