All ok except for location, but the close subway station compensated. Breakfast was not international top standard but the rest and especially the room was top notch

We love the spaciousness of the rooms. Although it is far from kyoto central, but it is 5-7 min walk from train to hotel. So although the convenience factor was a little compromised, but the size and comfort of the rooms make up for the transport.

From Kyoto station en total 30 minutes: 20 minutes with subway and 10 minutes until the hotel: it seem to be another world with possibilities to make jogging etc.. Far from the busy city but not too far from temples etc. Very friendly staff, nice courtyard and small garden outside with waterfall. We would come again to this hotel.

This is a great hotel with nice rooms, good service, great views and very convenient for the Kyoto subway. Some might say that it's a bit far from Kyoto centre, however the subway (which is located across the road from the hotel) takes you into town in about 10-15 minutes, and the hotel's out-of-town location means it's a nice, quiet retreat in the evening.

Surrounding gardens were lovely, very convenient to conference centre, and clean spacious rooms. I was not expecting such a large room in Japan. But staff do not speak English very well, and, although friendly have very strict rules that they will not bend for anyone or anything. Most specifically do not count on ANY ability to get ANY food whatsoever after 9 pm. The staff pointed to a dark road and said that there was a MacDonald's down there. If this was a local hotel, I could understand, but this one caters to international conferences, with many taking late flights like me. To ask someone to walk alone 15 minutes down a dark road not knowing any Japanese was unreasonable. You are not permitted to order food in either. So eat before coming or bring food with you.

This hotel is particularly well located for access to the International Convention Centre. It is at the end of the northern Metro line (5 min walk away) and there are enough amenities in the area to make it a pleasant location. If you want a hotel as a base for exploring the main tourist attractions in Kyoto, this may not be the most useful location as it is about 20 minutes by metro from the city centre. The hotel was clean, popular and efficient although the tour bus loads of local visitors made access to the breakfast buffet a bit of a challenge unless you were early.

Good hotel excellent quality but far from downtown

I was concerned with parking since I had made a road trip down from Tokyo, but parking was free and convenient. There is an international hall nearby and it is quite convenient by car to downtown Kyoto. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Will probably stay here next time I am in Kyoto.

Beautiful location on the edge of Tokyo and very near a metro stop. We even saw a beautiful deer in the woods from hotel window. Not convenient to walking in the thick Kyoto. Not a lot of convenient food choices. Hotel gift shop is better than average and priced well.
