"First time to Divi Flamingo"

10.0

This was our second trip to Bonaire. Divi was a step up from where we stayed previously. Diving was excellent and staff all very friendly and helpful. The only thing that could use some change is the food/restaurant options. It’s a 5 minute walk to town where there are lots of great restaurants. We had wonderful food at all of those restaurants but especially at Mezze. Steak was on par with really good steaks here in Texas.

"Best on the island"

8.0

This was my second trip to the Divi and eighth trip to Bonaire. Having tried four other resorts on the island I feel Divi is the best option. Bonaire is not known for high quality resorts or great customer service, so when I say it is the best option I am not giving it five stars. By far the worst dive resort I have been to is Buddy's (tried it twice several years apart and both times a major let down). In regards to Divi, the property is okay but could use some love and care. It is a big property with lots to do such as a small beach, casino and several pools. I do like the location as it is walking distance to town and the service at the resort is fairly quick and friendly. The food is so-so and very pricey. If doing any of the buffets make sure to get to the restaurant as they are putting it out for peak freshness. The room was spacious, but seemed a little dirty. The dive shop and boat crew were friendly and helpful; however, the lockers are far from the dock and they are very crowded. The crew does not help with equipment on or off the boat. The dive shop management needs to look into what other resorts are doing for customer service. Although Bonaire is a top 10 destination for me due to the island vibe and shore diving, the resorts definitely lack in quality. But I still feel that Divi out shines the others.

"Divi no more😢"

2.0

We have been staying at the Divi for the past 22 years. We love the island and have always loved the Divi. Unfortunately this will be our last stay at the property. Many longtime employees have left or retired. The property has declined The hotel is not being maintained to the previous high standards. When we checked into our room and noted serious maintenance issues our request to the front desk was ignored. We were told the issue would be handled. The staff member didn’t ask for our name or room number but dismissed us with a quick yes we will send someone right over !! No one came. We had to speak to the guest services manager the next day to resolve the maintenance issue ( a leaking toilet which required towels to be placed on the floor to mop up the excess water The following day a family member went to the front desk to report roaches in their room the previous night. They were told this is a common problem in the tropics and they would spray the room but we should understand it is a common occurrence. We have never seen a bug in all of our previous trips. There has always been security walking the property and often stationed at the back gate in the evening hours. During the past week we have not seen security walking the property. This evening we encountered a group of loud teenagers destroying one of the hot tubs by our room. They had poured soap into the hot tub and the foam was spilling onto the walkways. We called the front desk for security which never arrived. After waiting for assistance that never materialized my husband approached the trespassers and shouted for them to leave. They ran out of the back gate. A security guard from the casino on the property ran over after hearing my husbands shouts. Approximately 10 minutes later the security guard from the main lobby finally came by. We will continue to spend 4 to 6 weeks a year on the island but can no longer recommend the Divi

I recently stayed at Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino in Bonaire with my son for two nights. The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning ocean views that really make the place special. Our stay didn’t start off on the best note, but thankfully things improved significantly thanks to Sara’s professional approach, she handled everything with care and made a real difference to our experience. Renate was also fantastic, providing very good customer service and making us feel welcome. That said, I do feel that for the price paid, the hotel doesn’t fully meet the expectations of a 4-star resort. At the very least, breakfast should be included, especially for ocean view rooms like the one we stayed in. It would also be a great improvement to have a lounge area on the terrace to better enjoy the surroundings. On a very positive note, the cleaning staff deserve top marks, the room was kept spotless throughout our stay. Overall, a beautiful location with some great staff members, but there’s room for improvement to truly match its price point.

"Solo travel / positive experience"

10.0

After a cancelled flight I arrived the day after I was meant to. I’m here now and what a great first impression. Attentive staff on reception couldn’t do enough to help me get checked in quick and helped to rearrange a trip o missed due to late flight. Room - wow deluxe ocean view- is a must- sunset to die for right from your own balcony. Cool room with air con and really lovely room, great location close to centre. Really happy booked here just gutted I missed 1 of the nights due to cancelled flight night before. Special mention to the chibi? Restaurant, I have many food allergies and nothing was to much trouble. So much so had the best steak I’ve ever had! And what a view too to go with it (see attached) Totally recommend already after just 1 afternoon of being here.

"Nice resort, awfully bad accomodation"

4.0

We stayed at the resort at the end of March 2026, this is our third Bonaire visit. This is our first stay in Divi Flamingo Resort. Here is our experience with this property. It has a convenient location, close to the ferry to Klein Bonaire and Downtown, very good breakfast and decent lunch, nice beach, pool, and so on. The staff was polite and helpful. But due to the problem with the room our overall impression was very bad. We booked a room with two beds and a kitchenette, as we are seniors with special diet needs, we didn’t want to eat at the restaurant 3 times a day and we were going to cook some meals ourselves. We were allocated room 719, which had good location, design and amenities, but was in a state of very poor condition. When we got in our room we tried to open the patio door first as it was very hot inside. It was extremely hard to open the French type door and impossible to close it. We checked the air conditioner - it was not blowing any cool air. We tried to call the front desk - the phone was not working either. We went to the front desk and they sent us a maintenance person to fix the problems. With significant effort he closed the patio door and suggested using the side glass panel to get to the patio, though it didn’t easily slide as it was not supposed to be used as a door. He explained the structure has sunk down and at the moment nothing can be done about that. He promised to order the phone replacement, and to invite somebody to examine the air conditioner. Shortly 2 guys came and explained that the AC specialist will come during work days (we arrived on Saturday); they brought a big fan and suggested we use it meanwhile. On the front desk they told us they don’t have any free room for that night, so we spent the rest of the day and night in this room without functioning AC. The next day front desk staff allocated us another room, more expensive due to the ocean view, which we didn’t care about because we spent our days driving the island and snorkeling from different spots. This room didn’t have a kitchenette, had one bed instead of two and did not have a place to dry our swimsuits. So for us it was not an upgrade but definitely a downgrade. Luckily they didn’t take away our old room, so we only slept in the newly allocated room. On Monday the repair specialist fixed the AC, it was ready by the time we returned from our morning snorkelling trip, and we used room 719 for the rest of our stay. The phone had also been fixed. Unfortunately the patio door was not fixed, so we had to use the side glass panel. It looks like we got a room which was not ready to serve as a guest room but needed serious repair. Later we found in our room a note from the management, they gave us a 50 (fifty) dollars credit for inconvenience to be used on food. So we had one free breakfast and some change. Bottom line - they tried to book every available room no matter what state it was, maybe in hope some guests will silently accept. When we didn't, the staff did their best to rectify the situation using whatever resources they had at the moment, but that could only work so far. About housekeeping: the patio door glass stayed extremely dirty from the beginning till the end of the stay. When we asked the housekeeper about coffee filters she said that "if they are not in the drawer then buy them yourself". Coffee was delivered only after we asked at the front desk. One day after cleaning we could not breathe inside the room as the housekeeper sprayed the room with a huge amount of Lysol (we kept doors open for two hours with AC on to get rid of the smell (what about preserving electricity?).
