The Inn at Longwood Medical

Amazing location for hospital visits. Staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Our first impression was not a favorable one- I called a week ahead of our visit to Dana Farber to ask about the medical discount. I was greeted on the phone by a woman who put me on hold for quite a while- no issue with that- when she did come back said she was very busy and would have to call me back- I said I had a quick question about the medical discount and she said to just show the appointment information at check in and the discount would be applied. When we arrived, it was about 8 at night we checked in, we were greeted by a woman who was not pleasant and in-fact gave the impression that she was quite bothered by our check in. I asked about the medical discount and showed proof our appointment . She said that that’s not how it is handled. I explained that I called in advance and before I booked and told her what I was given for information- she said it was misinformation. I asked if we were still eligible and she said basically yeah-I’m fixing it..once we checked in she the said the elevator is out of order and we needed to take the stairs. No apology for the inconvenience or help with luggage or just some empathy for the inconvenience - fortunately we are able bodied and could take the stairs- unlike the lady we passed with her while arm in a full cast and sling carrying a suitcase up to her floor ( we did offer to help her!). - I asked where the restaurant was and she told me- but again in a very bothered tone. We were tired and hungry so just proceeded up the 4 flights of stairs to our room. Getting into our room, it was clean. The bathroom is very small and not easy to negotiate if you need any assistance. Our desk was covered in coffee rings/spills so clearly wasn’t clear which made me apprehensive as to what else may not have been cleaned. The entrance to Dana Farber is literally out one door and in the next which is amazing! I mentioned our slight inconveniences when we left to a lovely lady at the front desk who listened and empathized with my concerns. She was kind and understanding which turned our experience around- I made note that it seems a large population of their guests are here for medical appointments so it seems a little extra care and compassion didn’t seem unreasonable. She agreed and said she would address my concerns. I thanked her for being kind and understanding and for taking the time to listen. That said- we would go back for the convenience of Dana Farber being outside the door! You can park in the garage and there are close food options - but more importantly we would return for the pure kindness of the associate at the front desk this morning- a lovely lady in red- thank you! You are primarily the reason we will be back!

Great hotel. Room was comfortable and the beds were nice. Friendly staff. Convenient parking (paid). Close to Boston Children's Hospital.

No fault of the inns, but there was a lot of street noise and sirens overnight. To be expected in an area loaded with hospitals, but I never thought about it until we experienced it. Bring earplugs just in case? May have just been a busy night?

As a traveler for pleasure this is a convenient and welcoming hotel! But for a patient of any of the world class health facilites within a few miles of this location, it is a warm, friendly, necessary respite that is like nothing I have ever needed! I say this from first hand experience. I won’t get into health specifics but after several long tiring days of being the loved one of a patient or a patient myself traveling with family this hotel, the staff, the most comfortable beds, and the attached restaurant and near by food court is like an oasis. Each and every time we stay there we remark at what a gem this hotel is for us regardless that we have family that lives within 45 minutes of this location. The entire hotel is clean, maintained and well laid out. There is even a convenient parking garage attached that the hotel validates the parking rate during your stay. The staff is courteous, professional and accommodating. I would like to mention one particular staff person, Angel. I feel Angel absolutely represents the definition of customer service! Not only is he extremely polite, friendly and helpful, he was immaculate in his appearance and demeanor. This level of caring about the “customers” experience is reminiscent of my father’s approach as a restaurateur and inn keeper. He was meticulous in everything he did, both personally and professionally and was rewarded with a successful, respected career in a very inhospitable business. I hope Angel is recognized for his service in the same manner as my dad, despite the fact that my dad owned his businesses, Angel demonstrates the same level of dedication that an owner would. The only other caveat I will mention is that due to the location of this fine establishment, I recommend bringing a portable “white noise” device or use your phone. There are several emergency vehicles that approach the neighboring hospitals with short siren alerts that can be disruptive while trying to sleep. Besides that I highly recommend the Inn at Longwood for a plethora of reasons!

Location was perfect. We had appointments at Dana Farber. Also food was easily accessible.

Felt very rushed and nothing was explained at check in ( deposit). Disappointed no heat or vent in bathroom

The location of this hotel was perfect for us. My son attends a local college, so we were ablet to walk and use public transportation. It is also very convenient to have onsite parking.

When we entered the room the toilet seat was up and the toilet paper did not look new so we were concerned someone may have been in the room prior to us. Additionally, the water pressure in the shower was extremely weak.

We came for a family service and were taken such good care of by Heather and the rest of the staff. We had adjoining rooms that were quite clean and comfortable: spacious enough for the three of us, dark and quiet at night. The beds were comfortable and we got great sleep. We got in late and the person at the front desk was able to help us get food. But we ate in the restaurant the rest of our stay. The food was really good for a hotel, and the staff attentive. We also appreciated how close the Inn is to everywhere we needed to go. It is near two different train lines. Great for a family stay.

I just pay a little too much for the room for a small room. The staff are not friendly at all.

Had a food court on site.

Lot of hidden fees they say they have parking but it cost $25 a night. The parking garage is not clearly lables that its the parking for the hotel.
