Hotel Pacific

It was ok. They actually had some hot items, which was nice

The location was perfect for the event that I attended. It was right up the street. Although the room is dated..it was a nice space as it had a living room and a kitchenette. It also had a balcony. The receptionists that checked me in and out were very pleasant. In a pinch...I would stay here again...if only for a few a day or two.

It was dated and dark. The bathroom was not as clean as I would like. The shower was a little moldy and the patch work was not good. I'm sure this was a fabulous place a long time ago and maybe the other rooms were better than mine. The bed and pillows were not comfortable...too soft for me. the furniture in the living room was outdated too.

You can tell that Hotel Pacific was probably beautiful back in the day. However, in April 2026, it is in disrepair. The tile flooring in common areas is cracking apart, and the wood staircases and balconies are rotting. Many of the hallways and walkways aren’t properly lit at night. Road noise at night is so extreme that it is difficult to fall asleep. While parking for hotel guest is offered, it is outrageously priced, and the parking garage is narrow and difficult to navigate. Our biggest complaint, however, is the hotel’s policy on late checkout. We requested a late check out at 4pm and were told it would be $100. We agreed. Later, we got a call from the front desk that we could NOT check out at 4pm. Our new options were to check out at 2pm for an additional $50 or pay for the room for another night, at a discounted rate of $179. During the course of this conversation, they revealed that they had five rooms available for that additional night. While they claimed that they needed us to check out by 4:00 PM due to the housekeeping staff leaving at that time, it was obvious that the housekeeping staff would not need to be cleaning our room, as it was still available for the additional night (a Sunday). It is clear that this hotel is far more concerned about squeezing every additional dollar out of its guests rather than meeting the needs of their guests. Obviously, we will not be returning to Hotel Pacific during future stays in Monterey. They clearly are not concerned about providing good customer service and keeping their guests safe.
