Unfortunately the lift was broken for half our stay

We stayed at this hotel from Saturday to Tuesday and overall had a mixed experience. The location is excellent, right in front of the Haymarket tram stop, which made getting around the city very easy. Breakfast was small but nice, and we really enjoyed it. Also, the young man at reception on our first day was very friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. However, there were several disappointing points during our stay. The room (416) was extremely small. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were far too soft for our liking. We were given a room on the 4th floor with only one small Velux window, which was very dirty, so we couldn’t properly see outside at all. Every night there was an extremely uncomfortable noise coming from the window area, like a nonstop fan, along with a strong light coming in. The room was also very hot, even after turning the heating down, so we had to keep the window slightly open despite the noise. The bathroom was missing basic practical details, such as a towel rail or anywhere to hang hand towels after showering. Another major issue was the lift. It broke down on Sunday morning and was never fixed during our stay. In a hotel, especially with rooms on the 4th floor, we believe this should be treated as a priority and repaired immediately. Finally, at check-out, the two ladies at reception barely acknowledged us. No eye contact, no “How was your stay?”, not even a thank you for staying at the hotel. It left quite a cold final impression. Overall, the hotel has a great location and some positive aspects, but several comfort and customer service issues made the experience disappointing.

Well located and in the main clean. Staff were pleasant.

Bottom of shower a bit grubby and a lot of constant noise outside window I assume from AC. Room adequate but some basic design issues. No socket next to only mirror in bedroom so difficult to style hair and no hooks for coats or towels. However biggest issue was that lift broke down on Saturday and eas still not fixed by the time we left Tuesday afternoon.

Hôtel Confortable , propre et idéalement situé près de la station bus, tram et train de Haymarket. 25min à pied du centre d’Édimbourg, seulement une station de train. Non loin de Dean village. Très bon rapport qualité prix

La chambre à côté du local linge du personnel hôtelier, donc beaucoup de bruit des le matin et des portes qui claquent +++
