"Oh Brown Water, Keep on Rolling"

6.0

Room was just basic but all I really needed considering it was just a place to sleep. If you want breakfast go early or late else it will be like lions fighting hyenas. Water quality is very poor, ran the hot for five minutes and never cleared up the brown.

"Terrible room in 3 * hotel Azimut"

4.0

I stayed into Azimut hotel near Lermontovskaya street 4 days. I wasn't sure about room sizes and I booked Junior Suite just in case. Room was build into awful style. They have to give more attention to refurbishment. Windows are out of age. Walls around windows falling apart. Wind some times blowed through double glazed frame. Very old mattress with springs touching my back. Limmited food availability and not much services. Such small tv about 17" and so far from the bed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

"Good"

4.0

Monstrous Soviet-built hotel with tiny darkish spartan rooms (no air conditioner, no refrigerator, no sofa, no nothing - just a bed, a closet and a corner table), gloomy corridors and occasional flickers of Wi-Fi connection with dial-up modem speed. A few good things about it are the location, decent breakfast and friendly staff. Overall, it's OK for no more than one night.

"Very old and badly accommodated hotel.Poor Service"

2.0

Very old and badly accommodated hotel. Serivce is poor. Rooms were last time renovated more than 15 years for sure. Service starting from the reception all the way to the sky bar on 18th floor is not just poor, staff is extremely rude, and shows a storng desire to make your stay even worse than it is already. Will never return to this hotel and will never suggest it to a friend. About 30 minute walk from Neva river and is located somehow in downtown of the city.

"A Tale of Two Hotels"

6.0

Azimut St. Petersburg deserved 2 overall rankings because there were 2 different classes of rooms; Remodeled & Un-Remodeled. This hurt the overall rankings. I was shocked at the poor condition and quality (No working phone, No climate control, worn and broken down overall condition and NO RESEMBLANCE TO ANY ADVERTISEMENT PICTURES) of my first room on the 8th floor. When I mentioned the nonworking phone to the front desk, they gave me a remodeled room on the 12th floor, which had the expected refined comfort, quality and features as specifically shown in all the literature. (Upon giving the man seemingly an acceptable tip for giving me the correct room, about 20% of the room rate, I sensed that he may have expected more. Maybe I was mistaken. It all was awkward.) Also, wifi was too weak to reach me! I used wifi in the public areas since they did not follow up on this concern. Of floors I saw, 5,6,8,11,12, and 14, I noted that floors 11,12 and perhaps 5 or 6 were remodeled. The un-remodeled floors should not even be offered for occupancy in a hotel of this stature. My overall ranking would have otherwise been a 4 or 5. I was pleased with the remodeled room, the breakfast buffet and the public portions of this hotel. Location, although distant to Nevsky Prospect, was very safe and close to convenience stores and a bank, and a 10-15 walk to the metro. I could possibly stay here again.
