Motel 6-Silver City, NM

The price was the good compared to the rest of the hotels in the city.

There was construction going on, I understand during the day, but at night is unacceptable.

Nothing it was horrible, we actually stayed somewhere else, still trying to get my money back from motel 6

My husband and I like to travel with our dogs so I am accustomed to not getting the premium rooms. This was definitely not premium, or even adequate. The hallway reeked of pot and cigarettes even though a sign proudly proclaimed it a non-smoking property. Then we got into our room and it smelled just as bad. It wasn’t like one person had smoked in the room, it was decades of smoking. There were two queen beds, one of which had a visibly grubby bed spread. That quickly became the bed for the dogs. The pillowcases had stains and when we lay down to sleep I realized that the bed itself reeked of smoke. I had no idea if the bedding was clean and had just absorbed the smell, or whether it was left unchanged after the last visitor. One of the two refrigerators worked, but why leave the broken one in the room to take up space. No coffee maker and no breakfast available. The floors seemed dusty too. The sprinkler above the bed was gross. The flooring popped when we walked on it. The toilet worked, but was noisy and sluggish to flush. The fan was noisy and didn’t work. One light didn’t work and the others were very dim. I gave two stars instead of one because the water actually tasted pretty good and the room was cheap. The weird part was that it cost us $50 per night (even with the dog fee) and the website said it was almost $150. If we’d paid $150 I would have turned back around after opening the door and asked for a refund. On the plus side, I felt no urge to leave a tip for housekeeping.

No locks on the doors, had to lock from inside only couldn't leave room unattended. Dirty towels, no soap.
