"Excellent"

After reading some reviews on line we were skeptical about the Super 8 in Bedford. We arrived, asked to see the room and found it to be clean, plenty of room and the bathroom was spotless. It was quiet except for the ice machine outside of room 120, our room. The breakfast was good each day with waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, coffee and juices. Bedford doesn’t have many options for motels but this one was fine and the staff was pleasant and helpful.

The hotel was relatively quiet. Exception is the 1st floor ice maker which is quite loud. Fortunately we did not have a room near it but a friend had the room across from it and said it wasn't good. Be sure to request a room as far away from it as possible. Breakfast coffee and waffles were good. Upon returning in the afternoon the coffee pot was cold, but once a cup is warmed in the microwave it was still good. The staff is very pleasant. Checkin was easy as was checkout. The surrounding area is quite nice, parking is right in front of the hotel and very convenient. I an in Virginia in June each year and have stayed here before. I plan to continue to staying here.

"A stain on the Wyndham name."

This Super 8 has no elevator. I was told this when making the reservation, so I requested a room on the first floor. I have difficulty climbing stairs at my age, especially with both hands full of luggage. I paid for a room on the first floor but the check-in clerk ignored that and put me on second floor. Due to the nature of the business that brought me to the area, I arrived after midnight. The room reeked! it smelled of day-old shrimp tails! No effort was made to correct the situation, just a glib "It's the only room we have." Not up to Wyndham standards.

The staff was very nice. The Motel was clean. We were moved to another roommdor plumbing issues. However the mildewy, stale smell of the rooms caused daily headaches.
