AmeriVu Inn and Suites - Stanley

Stay at your own risk. Bed bugs. Got bitten legs under sheets. Door did not lock had staff fix, could open from the hall. Nail clippings on the floor. Hair on tub. Did not feel safe but icy roads. Staff refused to refund. Owner claims she did a room inspection if didn’t find the bugs, no refund. I reported bites at 5am, was gone by 7am after I figured out how to not contaminate my car with my boots.

When we first arrived in our room, the heat was turned off and it took 4 hours for the room to warm up to 72 degrees! We had to wear our street clothes and jackets to bed to stay warm. The smoke alarm in the room was covered with a plastic bag. The mattress was lumpy and had springs in it that you could feel. The sheets and pillowcases were well worn and had some holes. We stayed on New Years Eve and the motel was very quiet with not very many occupants. If the bedding had been nicer, and the heat had been on, we would have felt much better about our stay. The room was very clean, as well as the rest of the property.

When I left at 8 a.m. there was a single donut available.

Staffing was lacking. Maintenance staff helped me as best they could, but the manager was absent...for an hour after my arrival.

Bed was comfortable. Fist-sized hole through bathroom door (I was made aware of this before accepting the room). I crashed through the desk chair the first time I sat down on it (it was replaced with a nice chair in an expedient manner). The main light above the vanity did not work at all. The room and bathroom were very clean. My interaction with various staff members was very pleasant.

2 chairs in the room and both were broken.

Beds were uncomfortable, key cards didn't work and when we tried to get new ones, nobody was around. The breakfast was lame. Donuts from a gas station.
