(Spring 2026) We recently spent 16 nights at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, and we had a fantastic time! The weather was perfect, but the sargassum was extremely heavy when we arrived. Due to the efforts of the tireless workers, and a favorable shift in the current, the natural sea coves cleared over the first six days, and the water was beautiful thereafter.
On this trip, my wife and I were accompanied by our three daughters (+ one fiancé), and granddaughter (+ friend). We all stayed in Heaven, and two of the rooms received upgrades! It was really great to have all our girls with us, and since everyone left the resort on different days, my wife and I had our last six days to ourselves.
My wife and I love this resort! This was our ninth visit since 2017, and it was great to be home…so many familiar faces among the staff, who welcomed us with open arms and warm hugs! We thought the food and service were exceptional throughout the resort. Thanks to Legendary for the Members Appreciation events (Taco Festival; Sabor y Tradicion Show and Dinner on Mother’s Day; two Ceviche Days)!
Special thanks to: (1) Our butlers Moises, Paola, and Omar…the A Team! We appreciated the daily visits at the beach and at dinner, and for all they did to satisfy the needs of our group of eight and make our visit carefree. A special, special thanks to Elias for his kindness and thoughtfulness. (2) Ricardo and Mariana (working out of the members pool bar) for the incredible beach service (3) Damien at Sun Bar, where we stopped every morning after our “monkey walk” (Muchas gracias para el “Cabrito”), and Romero (Jesus). (4) Irai, Dago, and Sergio who made our frequent visits to Arribo bar extra special. A pleasure to see these guys again! (5) Mukul at Jigger & Shaker, who contributed to a memorable visit to HRHRM last November (6) Elizabeth, Manu, Gabi, and Walter for continued quality and friendly service at Faro, with a special shout out to Maria, the manager at Faro, who is simply a gem! (7) We visited Wai and Umo five times in total, so many, many thanks to Alita, Angel, Effrain, Frankie (thanks for the special churros!), Mar, Matilde, Miguel and Jacki for outstanding service. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Marissa, formerly of Zen, who manages both Wai and Umo very effectively, and is as pleasant as the day is long. (8) We dined at Ciao four times and were pleasantly surprised on our last visit when we were introduced to a new, and wonderful menu! Many thanks to Arrida, Enrique 1, Enrique 2, Gabi, Haveni, Santana, and “Spider Man”. (9) We dined outside at Frida where we had great seats for the Fire Show, and were served expertly by Luis, Romuardo, and Victor. (10) Ivan at Toro (11) Herme and Dani 1 and Dani 2 at Petit. We congratulate Legendary/HRHRM for hiring and recognizing quality employees like these and the many more who contributed to a fantastic vacation.
The remainder of the review is intended for Legendary Vacation Club (LVC), and its members. We have been LVC members for 10 years and have been extremely satisfied with our HOF membership. During this past visit to HRHRM, a decision was made by LVC upper management to terminate the employment of a butler for an error in judgement. We agree that management was right to take disciplinary action in this situation, but we feel the action taken was extreme and exceedingly unjust. We have known the butler for several years and know him to be an excellent worker and a fine human being. We know several members who share these sentiments. Unfortunately, it seems that members opinions are largely discounted. We vigorously oppose the decision made by LVC upper management, and in response, we have decided to no longer pursue upgrades to our membership and will excuse ourselves from all future “members meetings”.
