Adults Only Heaven at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya All Inclusive

My husband and I took our college-aged son to Mexico for a nice little break after school. We choose Mexico for the sun and beaches/snorkeling. We wanted an all-inclusive for the unlimited pina coladas. This resort is huge - split into the Blue/Azul (families) lobby and the Red/Rojo (adults only) lobby with plenty of pools and restaurants/dining options. There are 7 separate buildings with rooms: 1-2 in Blue (adults only) and 3-7 in Red (families). We were in building 6. We were all adults but we wanted adjoining rooms so those were only available on the family side. This is a very popular spot to have weddings. Each night (and some days), we saw several weddings in the HR's gazebos along the ocean-side path. This did not interrupt our vacation at all - it is just an observation. Pros: * Room - We booked a 2 bedroom/bath deluxe sky terrace room. We wanted adult son to have his own space. It was two conjoined rooms (lockable doors to separate for privacy) each with own full bath, mini fridge, closet, table & chairs and balcony. Plus stairs up to a huge terrace with lounge chairs, bar-height table and chairs, smaller round table and chairs, jacuzzi tub and bathroom. The rooms were a good size and the cleaning staff did a great job of keeping everything stocked and clean. We were very pleased with our room. *Dining - We've been to many all-inclusive resorts over the past 25 years and HR has some of the best food we've had. It's by no means gourmet but it is very good for an all-inclusive. There were a multiple restaurants, bars and quick dining options in both sides. Even the buffet (The Market) had a wide array of different foods. We really liked Ciao (Italian restaurant), Zen (Japanese restaurant) and Toro (steakhouse). *Pools with amenities: There are multiple pools across both sides of the resort. All are in close proximity to bars and several dining/snack options. There is plenty of shaded seating. As with most resorts, people will go early in the morning and "save" the prime seats. However, we went several mornings after breakfast - even as late as 11 am - and still found seats with shade. **We went the weekend of Memorial Day so maybe the resort was less crowded. *Golf carts: As I stated, the resort is big but walkable. However, there are golf carts constantly shuttling people across the resort at all hours. We never had an issue getting around the resort. Entertainment: We went to several of the shows and they were really good and entertaining. We especially like the hard rock show. Vibe City is great for families. We went bowling one night. Just noting that you should make a reservation to bowl. They had multiple activities there like batting cage, air hockey, trampolines, water slides and other arcade type things. Service: All of the cleaning, restaurants, bars, pools and shops staff were all top notch. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Cons: *Beach - there is very little beach at this resort. You can walk along a path along the ocean but it is all rocks. There are few areas that they have put little beaches in for the resort. What little beach they have is nice and with lots of chairs and there seemed to be plenty of attendants making sure you had any drink/food you needed. Just make a note, if you want to have a beach vacation, I'd pick a different location. *Sargassum (stinky seaweed): Sargassum season is April - August with May-July being the worst. This is not the HR's fault, it is just the facts. I was very impressed at how hard the crew at the HR works on a daily basis to try to clear the sargassum from what little beach fronts they have. I would have given this review 5 out of 5 stars but there were a few incidents with our hotel concierge that left a bad taste in my mouth. I know he was just doing his job but he came across as pushy and petty a few times. I'm not naming names because it is not a big deal but it did lower my opinion of the resort a bit. Also, another minor thing, we were disappointed in the lack of hard rock music played at the resort. We kind of assumed we'd hear much more being that it is named Hard Rock. Not a bid deal - just an observation.

We just took a weeks vacation to this resort for Mother’s Day with 10 ladies! Our vacation was simply amazing!!! From the moment we were picked up from the airport, every detail was fabulous! The staff here works so hard and is so friendly. The restaurants were top notch and all of our meals were wonderful! We took in several of the nightly shows and they were all great! This hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are very comfortable! We did have butler service with Paola and Omar and they made our trip even more magical! They both went out of their way to accommodate every request that we had and we couldn’t be more happy with the attentive service we had from them! Hard Rock Riveria Maya will not disappoint!!!

The amazing staff at The Hard Rock Hotel & Resort Riviera Maya make it possible to transform a vacation to a memorable and meaningful one. First, my family and I start the morning by heading to Faro where we see compassionate waitresses such as Gabby, who loves to interact and be able to know her tourists even more. Her presence is felt throughout our family and we love the smile she brings with her every morning. Next, as we finished devouring our sweet and savory breakfast, my family is set to hit the adult only pool by enjoying the atmosphere all the way up to late afternoon. The staff members pool side are phenomenal to their guests by providing what is all-inclusive food/drinks with entertainment. The activities for everyone like water aerobics, palates, poker, bingo, mini golf, and soccer(which I gladly won) are led by leaders such as Otto and Jazzi. These two love to have fun and create an environment where entertainment is at a premium. Pool side servers like Ricardo make the all-inclusive aspect “all-inclusive.” For instance, I was able to golf yesterday and came back shortly after two in the afternoon and Ricardo was right there within five minutes having my drink memorized and ready. Lastly, the organization of the vacation comes from our terrific butlers, Ignacio and Bernardo. They split their duties by dedicating their heartfelt ours to make our family have the best vacation possible. The butlers between the two check in with us often( pool side and dinner time) with reserving our seats for an entertaining theatre experience. Without them, the vacation does not go as smoothly as it has been. To all the staff at The Hard Rock Hotel & Resort Riviera Maya, thank you for dedicating your hours to making Riviera Maya a pristine and fun environment.

We had an amazing week at this resort. We're Very thankful to our butlers, Lucio and Fernando. The best butlers you can have in HRRM. They both went beyond to make our stay fun and comfortable. We appreciate you treating us like Royalty. Thankful also to these wonderful bartenders Diego, Mukul, Dago and Carlos (Pool). You made it fun for us at the bar.😊 We also appreciate Ms. Maria, the Faro manager. She is always checking on us. These kind of staff are the reasons why we came back to the resort.

We rarely leave negative reviews, but after exhausting every private channel available to us, we feel other travelers deserve to know about our experience at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. During our stay, my wedding ring — an item of both significant financial and irreplaceable sentimental value — went missing from within our assigned guest room. We reported the incident immediately and fully cooperated with the hotel’s investigation process. What followed was one of the most disappointing hospitality experiences we have ever encountered. The investigation timeline was repeatedly extended (48 hours became 72+ hours and beyond), communication was minimal and reactive, and we were consistently required to seek updates ourselves. At checkout, we still had no resolution, no meaningful explanation, and no transparency regarding the status of the investigation. After returning home, we escalated the matter through corporate channels and continued communicating professionally and patiently. Ultimately, we received a polished but dismissive response stating that no wrongdoing had been identified and subtly implying responsibility rested on us because the in-room safe was not used. To be clear: guests should reasonably expect their assigned hotel room itself to be secure. What has disturbed us most is not only the loss of the ring, but the way this situation was handled: * Repeated delays and shifting timelines * Lack of proactive communication * No meaningful accountability or transparency * Corporate silence after escalation * A clear focus on liability protection over guest care The hotel offered a single complimentary dinner during the process, which felt deeply inadequate given the seriousness of the situation and the emotional impact it had on our family vacation. We understand investigations may not always produce answers. However, luxury hospitality brands are ultimately judged by how they care for guests during difficult situations — and in our experience, Hard Rock failed significantly in that regard. We are sharing this publicly because after multiple attempts to resolve the matter privately and professionally, we were left without answers, resolution, or confidence in the property’s handling of guest security concerns. Travelers should be aware and take extreme precautions with valuables while staying at this resort.

Great experience, personnel was great. Shout out to the Animacion Entertaining team, especially Giggie and Roberto who kept things entertaining and fun. Our butler Diego and Naef were outstanding, always on top of our needs and wants. Had a great dinner experience at the French restaurant Le Petit Cochon, server Paola and Juan were excellent.

We had a private event at the bowling with 24 friends and had a blast! Perfect place to have a party and a fun night, thanks to all the staff that were super friendly and hope we can go back again soon!

Had the most amazing holiday made unforgettable by Chino, Joshua, Roberto, GiGi and all the entertainment team. All the restaurant staff and waiters were so accommodating, would definitely return
