The Rockley by Ocean Hotels

The location is fantastic and very convenient to many great restaurants, including Naru, Salt, Champers, and Tapas. There’s a beautiful beach directly across the street, and chairs are provided every day, so there’s no need to rush out early to “reserve” one. The rooms are decent, though a bit worn for having been renovated only three years ago. Our one-bedroom suite was spacious, and the hotel was generally kept clean, but details were often missed. The glass doors could definitely be cleaned more frequently. The rain shower wasn’t ideal for me as someone with long hair, as the water pressure made rinsing difficult. There is a laundry room on each floor, which is convenient. Housekeeping was disappointing. We were not given an adequate number of towels, and some days there were no washcloths at all. Toilet paper refills were inconsistent, and we were without tissues for two days, which was frustrating and shouldn’t happen at this price point. The food and service at the restaurant were very bad. Breakfast had a very limited selection and was poorly executed. Options included eggs, meat, pancakes, beans, some fruit, cold cereal, toast, and a few pastries, but overall it was underwhelming and not well managed. On the positive side, the bar does have craft beer on tap from Dreadhop, and the outdoor space is nice for sitting and having a drink. Overall, I would consider staying here again based solely on the excellent location. Worthing Square and Massy’s grocery store are about a 10-minute walk, and St. Lawrence Gap is roughly a 15–20 minute walk.

We had an amazing time and will definitely be back. Such friendly and helpful staff. There is nothing negative to say about this hotel. We loved it!

No. 1 for me was the staff — absolutely outstanding. Everyone was friendly, warm, and genuinely happy to help. Deirdra at reception is an absolute gem. She arranged a special dinner and message for my 40th birthday and even came down with a birthday song, which was such a lovely touch. Seth and Zion were also great, and the breakfast ladies were stars — my 2-year-old adored them. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The fitness studio is handy — basic, but perfect for getting some cardio in. The location is great. Bridgetown and Oistins are both close by, and the vibe outside the hotel felt relaxed, cool, and very local, which we loved. Some people mentioned better beaches further down the coast, but we really enjoyed this one. The sand was golden, and we were able to get chairs through the hotel, which made it very convenient. The pool area was also lovely and a great spot to relax. Negatives: The evening entertainment wasn’t really for me — although that’s partly because I’m not a karaoke fan. Breakfast was quite disappointing. Being in Barbados, it would have been nice to see a better daily selection of Bajan dishes. As a pescatarian who doesn’t eat eggs, options were very limited — and I was honestly thankful I’d already given up veganism. Overall, a really enjoyable stay, made especially memorable by the incredible staff

We had a fabulous time at the Rockley between Christmas and New Year's. The location is perfect and it is easy to walk to the beach and a variety of excellent restaurants. The rooms are large and service is great. There is also a taxi stand right across the street which was very convenient. Even though it was Christmas the hotel did not feel crowded and we never had to wait for anything. We would definitely return!

On arrival we were greeted by a very helpful young man who brought our cases to the room. We were offered rum punch and he fully explained everything that we needed to know about the room, restaurant, local area. Lovely clean and spacious room. Nice food selection. We wished that we had stayed longer than 1 night. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A great spot to stay while on the island! Spacious accommodations, helpful and friendly staff, great food, and right across the street from Rockley Beach and shops. The boardwalk is also very close by. Kitchens included in the suites as well which was super convenient!

A really nice hotel with a great atmosphere and lovely entertainment. The room was a great size with the kitchen area. The furnishing of the hotel and the room was superb and very modern. We had problems with our air-conditioning unit and our safe not working. These were supported but became a little inconvenient and affected our time at the hotel a little. Staff were mostly friendly. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee machine wasn’t working on a couple of occasions which was disappointing.

This hotel has great sized rooms and very friendly staff. The pool is small but enough you down after laying in the sunshine. Breakfast was relatively simple but slights tweaks kept it interesting. There was a good balance of cooked and continental breakfast for guests. A huge plus was that guests could request an omelette or fried eggs freshly cooked by the chef. Towels are provided and tokens to be given a beach brolly and two sunbeds daily. The beach is just across the road which is ideal. There are plenty of restaurants as well as take aways located very close to the hotel. However, the hotel food was varied both presented and cooked well. I only found that the fries where not as hot and crispy as I'd like but the Bajan fish cakes were excellent! Cocktails were freshly made and perfect (not just a slushie with alcohol added as I've experienced in some 4 star hotels). The prices for food and drinks was reasonable and pretty reflective of the prices in restaurants around the resort. This hotel offer a personal touch. It offers a family friendly atmosphere. The operations manager did her job very, very well (the best I have ever seen and I have travelled hugely). Both she and Troy make an effort to speak to all guests and to check that all is well for their guests. These captains of this ship meant those on the ship were also happy to work there and to visit there. It was refreshing to see that the hotel was open to members of the public (Bajan) making the experience even more authentic. The Bajan people are all friendly and a lot of fun to be around! I recommend this hotel for those who like a 'home from home' feel where you are made to feel welcomed and cared about. Myself and my husband will be returning one day for sure (we like to visit different islands). Thank you all at the Rockley and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!!

A super fun property located right across the street from the beach and the boardwalk. The staff are so kind and welcoming, and the property is very clean and modern. I traveled with my mom, and her and I both loved the options at the complimentary breakfast every morning as well as the on-site restaurant. The grilled fish tacos and pumpkin soup were incredible! The pool and the lounge / fitness center are great amenities and are useful for days spent relaxing at the hotel. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Barbados!
