It was filthy nasty with roaches and spiders in and out of the bed. It had old trash in it and was just dirty.

Several months ago we stayed at a Candlewood Suites and swore it would never happen again. This past week, we relented while traveling and stayed at the Candlewood Suites in Round Rock, Texas. We were tired and the driving had worn us down to the point that we decided to give this brand of the IHG family another chance - never again. The location is right off the highway and parking ample. Despite a busy Thanksgiving week, other patrons had chosen to bypass this hotel and only about 10 cars were in the lot. We checked in easily but like our previous Candlewood Suites stay in September, they do not recognize IHG membership or status upon arrival. No big deal, but it set the tone for the stay. Our room was reasonably sized with a king bed, long work station, and small kitchen area. However, the first thing you notice when opening the room is the very strong odor of cleaning solutions. The condition of the furnishings was deplorable. The abundance of roach/rodent glue traps (4 that I found without looking) was amazing. The scattering of two roaches in the bathroom (when the lights were turned on) was unsettling. Clearly this location has problems. I believe in all sincerity that they are trying to address the issues with the aggressive chemical cleaning solutions and glue traps, but it isn't quite working yet. I appreciate the management's efforts, but it is not a place that represents the IHG family well. As with our last Candlewood Suites stay, I blame to some extent IHG property inspectors who are doing the IHG brand a disservice by not holding franchisees accountable enough. We were fooled once (back in September) and let ourselves be fooled again. It won't happen again.

Overall, it was a good stay. The one thing that I did not like was the locks on the doors. Takes a lot of tries to get the card to unlock the doors Chairs in room were worn out and should be replaced soon

Please never go here it is so bad nothing was cleaned beds were undone when we got there please reconsider booking here ..
