Americas Best Value Inn Monroeville

well I checked in on june 17, 2017 pulling up I was nervous the motel is very outdated, I walked in checked in, they have no computer everything is hand written, ok fine whatever,she put me in room (105) walked in the room the bathroom door was closed, I knocked on it to make sure no one was in there, I walked in the bathroom there was many small black bugs in the tub, the tub was also leaking. the toilet was dirty the room smelled like they had a smoke party until my nose started to burn, called the front desk she said well you wanna walk up here to get another key I said mmmm sure...I then transferred to room (110) walked in the bathroom door was closed same thing, the room was very stale smelling the chair was dirty 1 drawer was missing out of the dresser not that I was going to use it...the ac cover was off of the unit the screen was torn hanging off of the window...well I guess I got what I paid for...nothing but nasty.....this place really should be shut down...but the funny part is when I pulled up to check in the parking lot was really empty, when I checked out sunday morning the parking was still over half empty......keep it moving!!!

Regarding the free breakfast.... they were remodeling the food service area so no breakfast was served. This was a disappointment. It is only temporary though.

Staff was very helpful and kind, but the ac did not work.

Monroeville is a small town and doesn't have any hotels that could be considered luxurious by any means. But the America's Best Value Inn was affordable, clean, and comfortable. The woman who checked me in, who I believe is one of the owners, was very nice. They appear to be in the process of upgrading/renovating the office and rooms. The room had nice faux wood/granite furniture, large flat screen, microwave, and a mini-fridge. For the area and the price, you're not going to get any better.

This hotel was a decent place for hard working "blue collar" individuals doing business in the area.

The non smoking room smelled like cigarettes, there were 2 ash trays in the room, cigarette holes in the second blankets, smashed lollipop in the top cover, directions off highway 40 was wrong, hard to find, truck outside was idling all night long

Breakfast was slim - no batter for waffles (waffle ironing counter but not plugged in!) no juice, no decaf coffee, no fruit or yogurt, no bread or bagels or English muffins No in-room coffee. This was the "closet"!! Two double hooks on the wall!

I stayed at the Best Value Inn for 3 nights past week and had a great stay. My check in process was very smooth and the staff was incredibly friendly throughout my entire stay. The room/linens/etc. were very clean and I had absolutely no issues. I had the breakfast each morning and enjoyed that as well. I'll be coming back through Monroeville and will definitely stay at this hotel again!
