Hotel Rumbao, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Cool property, really nice sized room, great location for walking around OSJ.

Some cleanliness issues- pool area had some wrappers and garbage around, dust in the registers in the room. Also the AC in the living room area wasn’t working great. Balcony was just a little standing balcony which I’m not sure was on the description of the room

The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable.The bathroom state of the art. Thestaff was lovely and the food that we had from the market downstairs was delicious.I can't say enough about it . Our three granddaughters are with us on this trip and they were just so excited and they enjoyed the stay.

Here we sit after checking in at 9:00 AM. It is almost 3:00 PM and everyone in the lobby have gotten their rooms. We were told at 9:00 it would be a couple hours. Then at 11:00 we are told 2 hours. At 2:00 we were told it would be 4:00 because we asked for no feather pillows in our reservation. Folks who checked in after have gotten their rooms. Not too friendly and we are disappointed. Not sure front desk really cared. Wish us luck.

Location is great, very central for the old San Juan

The rooms are basic for the category of hotel. The pool area has zero facilities, you can’t even move the umbrellas so getting any form of shade is impossible. Air conditioning in the room is very noisy, you have to turn it off if you want to sleep. The buffet breakfast is pretty poor for the price you are paying the room, this could really do with some improvements! At the end of the day it is an expensive hotel and the value for money really isn’t there.

The Rumbao is in an ideal location for a visit to San Juan. Easy to complete a full walking tour of the old city right from the front door. There is a convenient rental car desk in the lobby so you can rent a car and return it back to the hotel garage for an excursion into the countryside. Directly across the street from the cruise piers. Recently refreshed, the room was comfortable and the furnishings in good condition. Housekeeping is deficient. Glassware in the room was not properly cleaned. The collection of towels provided varied daily with no discernable standard. Be aware that self parking actually works out to be more expensive than valet parking. Overall, excellent value for money based on location and the generally high standard of the facility.

Great location from the port. Like that Walgreens was next to the hotel. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Hotel was clean and comfortable.
