Wilderness Beach Hotel

Friendly staff, good beds, great location and good breakfast. WiFi is also okay. Great 5 days stay!

Location was awesome

At night there were a few creepy crawlers in the bathroom which looked like baby cockroaches

Despite the state of the facilities, the staff was excellent and tried the darnedest to make the guests comfortable.

The facilities are in desperate need of upgrading. From the bathroom that's outdated to the wonky beds and furniture

Only the location was ok. The rest was absolutely terrible.

The building is old, no renovations were done in 30years, aircons were broken in both rooms, outdoor facilities were in extremely poor state, lots of items broken. The breakfast offerings were disgusting that we ended up eating out at another restaurant. There were big cockroaches in our bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as large worms. It seemed to have been all over the hotel. Random strangers and paragliders made use of our patio and furniture and had no care in the world that we were in our rooms. They also swam in the pool even though they were not guests. Reception staff extremely rude and unfriendly, they did not greet any guest who walked in. This place should not operate as a hotel. But rather as a motel or back packers destination. The photos on the booking do not match up to reality.

This property cannot be called a hotel. Although it has a great location with great views of the ocean and Wilderness Beach,this place should not be advertised any longer,it is not in a good condition. The online pictures are definitely not what you will find when you get there, the current paint colour (blue) of the hotel is already faded which tells me that the pictures for the advertisement were taken a good few years ago. The facilities are in bad shape. The tennis court cant be used nor the volleyball court,it is delapidated. The pool was full and fairly clean and strangely the pool lounger cushions were fairly new. The guest bathroom downstairs I reduse to use,although fairly clean it is smelly ans in bad condition.The aircon units situated outside of the rooms are falling apart and are rusty. We had to bend the aircon fan outside to get it to work for the night.The lawns are dead,the hotel is in bad shape. Staff do not even wear uniforms. There is no security outside for the cars at night. There is no bar fridge in the room and the restaurant is only open for breakfast at an additional R200 per adult and R150 per child, a fairly pricey breakfast that would be. We did not want to unpack our clothes it just didnt feel clean. Some of the doors leading outside from the room and the passage were permanently locked or rusty and would not open which brings the question to mind whether it is safe there or not. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Bathrooms - toilet slow to flush Toiletries ( shower gel and shampoo) supplied for one instead of two

No fridge in the room. No cutlery. Bathroom door doesn't close properly. Food was bad. This place is a 1 star. The only thing that was working properly is WiFi.
